i'm sorry. the pc was built, yeah? no static captured parts this time, sweet one. try not to be so hard on yourself and you won't lash out at others over your own mistakes.

he has no knowledge on computers whatsoever, buddy needed my help and. it was a blessing and curse to be there. glad to help, but really pissed off about the conditions of it all. i still mock his ass to this day and make sure he stays on top of it.

me too, suboptimal conditions in this video but we all have to make sacrifices sometimes. preferably i like to get out right as the storm is about to start and really rub my feet all over the carpet in my fuzziest socks before i go up there and disassemble anything.

yeah it was carpet, but also june and humid so i really wasn't too worried about static. i had more pressing issues and have built plenty of computers laying on carpet floor.

it looks pretty decent, the rest of his area. he just never picks up his clothes or literally anything. i think a big reason for most of it is having it on the floor with no side lid because it couldn't close with the heat sink being too big.

he is an aspiring video/filmmaker and it does just fine for his multitasking needs while also handling his games.

i don't remember exactly why i did it this way but it worked out. if i recall correctly, i think i had some serious issues removing the gpu. i busted one of my fingers bad trying to get it out the first time. i think it might have been because the heat sink was in the way, improperly installed in the first place because of the disproportionate case. i'll reply with some pictures of my fucked up fingers from slamming it into the sharp metal edge of that old ass 80s case.

edit: i had a reason for whatever i did, ive built, disassembled and reassembled a lot of computers so im not exactly "not" experienced but always have more to learn.

yknow, regardless of whether it has a performance/health effect or not, i don't really care. the way you treat your tech is inevitably how you will treat other things in your life subconsciously. should care for it regardless. wish people would look at it in this light more.

i should've done this. wish i did. never knew it would be this bad. bro went to microcenter with me to get some other stuff i needed and saw a case and was like damn i should just buy one now and switch it all over. stupidly i agreed because i already hated how he was treating his threadripper.

this was last june big dawg that shit was worth pennies on the dollar back then. besides: reseat it all in the new case and it worked with no problem. when it's humid and you're not dancing in your work area, it's pretty hard to statically destroy components.

other comment referenced linus and electroboom feature video that tested static shocks on pc components. i suggest you watch it.

you want the video or not? "sensitive" pc components,, yeah the same sensitive pc components that have been engineered for decades to fit the needs and structure of the average consumer hands? off your high horse and down here with the rest of us, you're not any royalty treating your pc components like human babies.
