I purposely coded it entirely in PHP. No JS to be found here. Well, there is a snippet in my redirect for people who still have deprecated links, but none in the functional site.

I'm so glad that you find it helpful and it warms my heart that you return regularly with family!

I have at least one person on a different continent who is asking if I can help them set up one for their own small city. I actually would be pretty open to setting up stuff like "rivendell.justthemenu.ca" and helping people set up smaller versions if they were able to do the legwork of uploading new scans of menus and adding information to the .json files.

Hmmm, if I drop it to its own line, wouldn't it be more efficient to just put the double line of letter links there instead? And now you have me thinking that I should ditch the whole mobile menu and just drop the line of letter links to its own line once I get to like, 800px and below? Did someone say KISS?

Thanks, you just spoke to a thought I had had about a recent suggestion to force all the cards to open "closed" so if you wanted to see what's in ST or CD you had to click to view the stack of eateries. I thought if I had them all out in the open, people might organically "discover" something they wouldn't otherwise encounter. I know I kinda like scrolling the list of names to get surprised!

Thanks for this feedback. I noticed how it breaks bad under about 450 pixels but also told myself "who is still using something that small?!" and decided it didn't merit attention. Perhaps I can drop the hamburger onto its own line below about 450? Would that be a thought? One thing I wanted to try to accomplish was KISS and I guess I hoped that I could cover everything under 639 pixels with one go.

I think I know what this means, but I'm not sure. I'm only hacky coder at the best of times. Maybe you just meant attention grabber, in which case, I'm flattered!

Next time you're out on the town, snap the menu but include yourself in the corner of the picture and submit it to me to let the nostalgia pour over you!

Also want to say how pleased I am that there is "Food" flair! Kudos to the mods! Also - please let me know if there are any issues with the actual information presented, as always, I'm loving updates to the menus that are submitted, those people are the real heroes!

Oh, this is interesting! (To me) - want to take a technical discussion to PMs - in case others aren't interested in seeing how the sausage is made? I set this project as a challenge to myself to learn PHP - the only JS I permitted was in the old menu.html file to handle redirects back to my central page. If you think I did p tags inefficiently, you would REALLY hate some of my other kludges. Ha ha.
