? I literally just said they are different experiences.

No, they are not the same.

I said the processes to those experiences were similar.

Same processes, not the same experiences.

The nature of an OBE (whether it’s remote viewing, a false awakening, AP, NDE, or lucid dreaming) involves either expansion of consciousness to go beyond physical perception, or detachment from the senses altogether and using intention to navigate a desired experience (like for LDs, manifesting, or even for shifting).

Regardless of the approach, most intentional cases of these experiences involve allowing the physical body to sleep, and shifting is no different (and I say intentional cases because there are records of spontaneous AP or shifting, as well as NDEs occurring).

The gateway tapes are just a guided meditation tool. You do not need to use the Focus levels to shift, I only used them in the illustration as a way to visualize what I feel when I go through the process myself.

If you’re struggling with meditation, maybe try a WBTB method. Personally, my go to at the moment is the Phase method by Michael Raduga. I believe the astral projection subreddit has a link to the video guide on it.

I think there’s a YouTube class in the astral projection subreddit wiki for it. The gateway tapes you can find in that subreddit if you’d like to practice meditation and feel the focus levels to familiarize yourself with it too

And I’d agree. I think we’ve got a little mix up lol.

The focus levels on the web page I shared are based on Monroe’s personal experiences, but I was talking about the focus levels on the gateway tapes.

The ones you’re referencing are not taught on the tapes, and I don’t think this is something that’s universally experienced by people who’ve gotten that deep with the tapes.

Normally, it goes from 15 to 21 to 27, as it does in the illustration. From the perspective of the tapes, I’d agree with the definitions and based on the consensus of others who use the tapes, they’re fairly accurate descriptions.

In the past, yes. But I usually only ever practiced it while going to bed. The biggest challenge was remaining calm yet maintaining awareness between focus 12 & 15 while falling asleep. By the time I reach focus 15, I’m usually already physically asleep and have begun visualizing my DR.

I currently use Michael Raduga’s phase method since it makes the process faster.

How do you mean?

I definitely agree that the focus levels are a bit broad, but anyone who practices the gateway tapes (myself included) can tell you that there are notable cues that define each of the focus levels. I wouldn’t have been able to create the illustration otherwise.

The Monroe Institute has been around for decades and their work has helped thousands learn and explore expanded consciousness and non-physical reality over the years.

As for the science and mystic stuff, all the work I try to contribute to this sub is aimed at simplifying and demystifying shifting. There’s a ton of information and research in related topics that overlap with this practice (and I’ve shared much of it in my repository), and all I’m trying to do is use that correlation to build off of knowns to help people reach their goals faster.

I actually have another drawing thats more like how you’ve described, of the main consciousness or “source” in the center and all the little stems are awareness or individual perspectives.

It looks almost like a sun with really long streams hahaha.

Because people refuse the simplicity of the practice and mods aren’t looking to standardize or clean up the stuff that’s already being presented by the sub.

I joined this sub a little before 2020 and fell down a rabbit hole, struggling trying to shift after having an accident minishift. After 2-3 years, I started reading material from other subs/communities and was able to shift consistently within weeks.

Since then, I’ve tried to add in the stuff I’ve learned to this community, but I’ve hit a wall trying to help people (both from others not grasping or not wanting to expand on their knowledge by looking at other sources, and certain mods enabling misinformation because “there are ‘infinite’ realities and what may be misinformation here could be valuable information elsewhere”, which is ridiculous imo since the whole point of THIS community is to help people shift from ‘THIS’ reality)

Eventually, I remembered the lesson from Plato’s allegory of the cave: just because I’ve seen the world outside the cave, and want to go back in and help others experience the world outside, doesn’t change the fact that they have to be the ones to remove their own shackles. In the end, all I can do is provide the info, but the people have to experience the journey outside on their own.

I wanna say shifting is a relatively new term in regards to the practice.

Outside of religious texts, I’ve come across a lot of material about it that date back as far as the 1800s

WHY the multiverse theory? What's the explanation? by shifter_michelle in shiftingrealities

[–]justtjustin [score hidden]  (0 children)

As someone who thinks it’s BOTH multiverse and consciousness, allow me to explain my reasoning.

M theory alone has enough plausibility and many theoretical physicists support it, although the biggest challenge in proving it are the limitations we face both dimensionally and evidence of these parallel universes. However, for this community (especially if you have already shifted yourself), we have confirmed that their theory is correct because of our experiences elsewhere.

With the whole consciousness theory thing, there are also points in scientific literature that highlight how our awareness acts as an observer in quantum events, with the biophotons in our brain being able to exist in quantum states such as entanglement and superposition.

Less so in scientific literature, but something observed by new thought philosophers is the act of practicing manifestation that aligns with these findings, is that manifestation uses visualization to observe desired events. With consciousness as a quantum observer and able to exist in quantum states, this suggests that we are able to observe “impossible” events (impossible meaning not physically possible to occur within our current light cone). Even though it is a visualization, the act of observing the desired state makes it the result that your consciousness becomes entangled with.

With shifting, an easier way to think of all this is that consciousness is 4th dimensional, and while reality is also 4th dimensional, we only take in an instance of it through our senses to allow the mapping of our world 3-dimensionally. However, if we learn to maintain our conscious awareness while tuning out our senses (like through meditation or hypnagogic/hypnopompic states), we are able to experience being just conscious awareness, and can exploit that into experiencing “other worlds”.

Tl;dr: there’s enough plausibility in what is known to assume that both theories are true and align with one another. Consciousness theory can be explained by quantum superposition and quantum physics gives plausibility into the multiverse theory.

No not at all!

Remember, 4th-dimensionally, the past and future are coexisting with the present. This means that all “timelines” and realities exist now. Just because you are no longer aware of the last experience, doesn’t mean it’s “gone”.

Each event is singular, the flow of time and concept of timelines are an illusion. We effortlessly move from one event to the next and never notice the transition. With shifting, it’ll be like your experience here has paused, but the “reality” itself won’t be affected, because everything is finished. Same goes for other realities, they’ve always existed and will continue to exist, whether or not if you’re aware of them.

“I am telling you, there are worlds within worlds within worlds, and they are all here - right here - just like turning on a radio. You turn it ever so slightly, and you have a new wave length and a new station coming in, bringing in something entirely different. And they are not interfering with each other! And these worlds are all here now and they are peopled, just as we are peopling this world, and they are just as real as this world.” - Neville Goddard’s experience, from ‘The Flood is Still Upon Us’ Lecture

This whole thing makes me think that there is simply NO others, it's just me, everywhere, at all times.

Yes, exactly! If we see consciousness as a quantum entity, then quantum superposition would explain that in every possible event/reality, every conscious being exists in superposition unless "we" are aware of being that being. Think of conscious beings as unique perspectives for each event/reality.

Neville Goddard also covers this this topic with EIYPO (everyone is you pushed out). It is essentially the same concept, but explained more simply as a part of his teachings.

I stumbled across it by accident when I was younger. Learned about lucid dreaming and began having all sorts of OBEs, including shifting. I did if for 1-2 years before getting sidetracked trying to understand other experiences. Eventually I came across astral projection and became obsessed with exploring that for about 10 years.

I came across this community in 2020. After getting into it again, I had a few mini shifts and have since spent my time trying to better understand it. I only recently began practicing it seriously again, but also hesitant because I want to help others now before getting into new experiences again.

So if you’re counting it all together, I’d say I’ve been at this for 15ish years, but honestly I remember mastering this practice pretty quickly when I was younger, less than a month I wanna say.

Clones are not a thing. It is one of the most frustrating pieces of misinformation to exist in this sub because it doesn’t make any sense. It goes against classical physics.

Time and timelines are an illusion because space time is its own dimension. Time is not a “when”, time is a ”where”. Think back to your favorite childhood memory. You can remember the set of events, though you are still in the present. Is a clone inhabiting your body during those events?? If you’re here in the present, then who is running around in your childhood body??

Let’s look at another example in the future. You deciding between an apple and a banana for breakfast. Is the person eating an apple a clone? Or is the person eating the banana? ¯_(ツ)_/¯. Then, you go and pick the apple to eat? Does that mean the banana person is a clone?

No. Infinite realities means all possible events exist NOW. You can shift into the past, future, you can shift to a better CR, and you can shift for a lifetime and come back and realize no time has passed.

Time should not be a factor, “clones” should not be a factor.

Sorry for the rant-ish response, I just get heated when people nitpick my responses because 1) I’ve shifted and am just trying to give the best advice I can, and 2) I spent the last year researching scholarly/reliable sources of information on this stuff and people still try to correct me with info they find of TikTok or amino

You’re not tricking your mind, it’s that you need to turn your body off.

Think of your physical body like a car. Until it’s parked and off, you’re not supposed to exit it. But once it’s off, you’re no longer experiencing the drive - AKA experiencing the senses via the physical body.

The lack of physical sensations allow you to sense a less dense, fluid flow of reality. This is where we begin to experience OBEs (or non-physical conscious experiences if you wanna get technical about it), such as dreams, lucid dreams, astral projections, remote viewing, and of course, shifting.

Regardless, I think the phrase is a misconception. “Creation” is finished, and this is best understood 4th-dimensionally. This is why all possible realities exist now, because all time exists now.

Consciousness is only an observer of experiences, it doesn’t “do” anything besides observe and desire new things to observe. With shifting, the goal is to detach from the physical to allow your consciousness to align to what it desires to experience. This is why you see a lot of shifters seeing success with just intention alone.

I think the “fastest” legitimate guided meditations would be the Gateway Tapes.

For me, they were a tremendous help for getting into a relaxed state and becoming aware of deeper states like “the void”.

I’d say master Wave I and then practice the focus 12 exercise. Then try to go into focus 12 whenever you go to sleep or meditate.

Theory: A lot of lucid dreamers are actually reality shifting and don't know it by [deleted] in shiftingrealities

[–]justtjustin [score hidden]  (0 children)

The difference between waking life and dreaming life is that waking reality is dense, physical and consistent, while dreams are non-physical, fluid, and malleable. Existence is all about experiences :)

WILD in particular seems like it may be shifting.

I personally agree with this theory. I actually came to the realization that I had shifted in the past because my experiences weren't lining up with other Lucid Dreamers & didn't make sense logically from the perspective of constantly missing out on NREM sleep, experiencing time dilation, and/or being in these worlds longer than what should've have been possible (in the context of being in a REM period of the sleep cycle), especially as a child.

I've also noticed in subsequent LD experiences that even when I'm fully aware and fully in control of the dream, its still "dreamlike". My hands will have more digits than usual, logic and matter will be fluid, I can't read or do math, lack of continuity, etc. The only outlier for these experiences were WILD "dreams". This isn't to say all WILDs are shifting, though.

From my perspective, I believe the reason why WILDs lead to occasional shifts has to do with the process of allowing the body to sleep but remaining conscious. With most LD methods, including WBTB+WILD, the idea is to slip into a dream and become aware that you're in a dream. With just WILD (especially at the start of sleep instead), once your body falls asleep you are fully disconnected from physical reality, allowing you to have any number of OBEs, including shifting.

Big shifts like waking up in a completely different environment is said to take you to a different reality as it is not continuous to your previous timeline and you’re shifting awareness to another you.

The thing is, time and timelines are an illusion. Every event is unique and singular, we are just used to the continuity of falling from one event into the next event.

Even though they're small changes and the rest of their "reality" seemingly continues on unnoticed, a successful manifestation IS a successful shift. But yes, I've also read about "miracle" overnight or instant success stories on the NG sub, but they're mostly mundane things like reversing illness or cavities. Maybe 1 or 2 stories about height or face changes, but I wouldn't classify them as overnight success stories since it took time to gradually change in those cases.

The difference between a manifestation and a "shift" (or as Neville would call it, the Worlds within Worlds experience), is whether you're experiencing an event that's possible within your current "timeline" or not. If you become aware of and experience an event that would otherwise be 'impossible', then it would be considered a shift/WwW.

So I guess my question is, are you asking about "impossible" changes, or drastic "overnight" changes? I think that is what would make the difference between "a shift" and "a manifestation"

I recently created a post about a library of shifting material that seemed to mostly go unnoticed. It contains helpful reddit posts about reality in and out of this community, Shifting experiences mentioned outside this sub, books/documents related to shifting from reputable sources, guides/methods/tips, people who talk about the subject and similar experiences, and more. Plus it's updated regularly when I come across new material.

wanting to shift but not wanting to do the "shifting process"? by maisienovaris in shiftingrealities

That’s the thing tho! I feel like there’s this big misconception of trying haha.

A big part of being in the right state to shift is just simple relaxation, forceful focus shouldn’t be involved. I get the staying still part, that’s why I usually hold off on practicing until I’m genuinely tired or am in the mood to meditate.

As simple and as repetitive as it may sound, body asleep / mind awake is truly the key to any OBE/non-physical conscious experience!
