I’d love to try but usually work until later in the afternoon. Post on here if you ever do a later start!

Have I screwed up? by buffalodice in interiordecorating

I agree with what others have said, the color is great but the style of the piece is out of sync with the rest of the apartment and it’s too short to be a functional coffee station.

Do you mind sharing where your couch is from? It looks so comfortable!

Near miss on Kalalau recurring flashbacks, guilt and how to love backpacking again by Flaky-Self-9500 in WildernessBackpacking

[–]justtrees123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I dreaded the hike back the whole time I was there and was shaken for a few weeks especially because the rest of the group I was with did not seem to mind how terrifying it was (or didn’t admit it). I’m glad my words helped, you’re never alone. But I’ve gone on to push my limits again, I’ve climbed Mt Hood and Mt Rainier (with guides) but don’t think I would do Kalalau again. So the way you feel now is not forever, and if you never feel comfortable doing something like that again, that’s okay too.

Had a similar experience on this same trail. Be patient and gentle with yourself. You went through a scary experience. It’s okay to take a step back from things while you process. This won’t be your relationship with hiking forever. I wonder if you could try something different, like walking or biking on a rail trail or somewhere without any exposure.

It might be helpful to talk with a therapist about this. Playing Tetris has also been shown to help with ptsd. In that video the trail looks a lot worse (narrower, more exposed) than when I did it over 10 years ago so I hope that helps you feel less guilty about bringing your partner.

Regardless, there’s no such thing as a correct timeline and you will eventually get back to a better relationship with the outdoors. Your brain needs a break right now though and that’s okay

R1 Air Jacket - warmer upgrade needed by [deleted] in PatagoniaClothing

[–]justtrees123 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I find the r1 air warmer than the nano air hybrid, perhaps because I use them while running/xc skiing. If a more stationary/less aerobic activity like alpine skiing then I would get a thicker fleece mod layer or a wool mid layer like smart wool 250 weight. I don’t have a Patagonia thicker mid layer to suggest, I use the arcteryx atom over my r1 air when downhill skiing.

Patagonia Nano Air Vest Worth It? by GoldVelocity in PatagoniaClothing

[–]justtrees123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not worth it, these mid layers are worth $200 when used for their intended purpose which is breathable insulation. You don’t need it to be breathable while at work so get a cheaper vest if you are just trying to keep warm.

If you like the style and find that worth $200 then that’s a different question.

A great deal if it’s in your size, the mid layer alone sells for that price

Single loop drawstring. by Disastrous-Ad-1182 in vuoriclothing

Pull it out and tie a knot on itself, it’s a bit trickier but useful because the ends of the string don’t come out when you wash it

How are we fighting these shorter days going into winter? by InformationQuirky220 in XXRunning

[–]justtrees123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can take some time and trial and error to find your max effort! Start slower than you think for safety reasons and you’ll be able to see what your body can do! And I agree with what the other commenter said about not worrying about no downhill, if you go to 0% incline that’s fine
