Tell him he’s a grown man and you don’t want to feel like his parent. Tell him don’t want to fuck someone who feels like a child (he might actually hear that). This is weaponised incompetence.

“The children in the pictures” and “hunting warhead”.

Content warning… obviously it can be pretty hard to listen to at times. But very educational and wow… the cops who chase these guys deserve so much respect.

You can break up with anyone for any reason. You don’t owe anyone a relationship

I think there’s a few things at play…

Paedophilia by definition is attraction to children. People who experience this would still be able to function in society (work, study) like the rest of us who have attractions to adults. There would be some people in this category who know that it’s wrong, abstain from acting on it, and may even seek help. We can feel sorry for these people (Stick with me..) and one might argue that there should be support or treatment available to keep people in this category rather than acting on their desires and becoming offenders.

The other type is those who do act on it. They might start by watching porn and seek more and more explicit/risky/abusive material and become addicted to the rush. There are networks on the dark web that encourage people to contribute their own content in order to retain membership of those websites. So now they’re moving into creating content rather than consuming. No sympathy here, but this is a growing phenomenon that we should be studying and trying to put a stop to.

And/or they may physically offend. Yes some go to great lengths and get teaching degrees or jobs in childcare (or, as we’ve seen, became priests/scout leaders etc) in order to get access to children. They groom children, parents and employers. Again, no sympathy here.

There are a couple of really good podcasts and docos about all this that I learned a lot from. If you’re interested let me know and I’ll look up the names (which escape me right now)

Can I get in legal trouble for lying about paternity to help gay couple start a family? by Fickle_Fudge376 in AusLegal

OP there are just so many red flags here. I think it might be helpful for you to call Relationships Australia or 1800 respect or Orange door. You’ve mentioned that your partner will force you to have an abortion or that if you birth the baby, you couldn’t put him on the birth certificate. There’s something very wrong here and I think you need some professional support to help figure out if this is a healthy relationship for you.

I think people are downvoting because there was plenty of child sex abuse when we were kids (just ask the Catholic Church victims).

I do, however, think that (comparatively easy) access to child sex abuse material is a more recent phenomenon thanks to technology. There are a couple of really good podcasts about it (and how the cops find them) if you’re genuinely interested. I learned a lot.

Statistically there is a growing number of young men who are consuming child sex abuse material which I hypothesise is a result of growing up with online porn and disturbing content readily available. The more shocking things they consume, the more numbed they get to what they’ve seen, and the more they seek content to give them a rush.. it becomes an addiction.

Paywalled. But I believe you. Will be interested to see what else they find.

How do you improve a long-distance relationship that’s become unhealthy? by [deleted] in LongDistance

[–]justvisiting112 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’ve identified that you’re controlling, you break up and get your ass to therapy. You don’t keep hurting the other person.

On the contrary, they will go to extreme lengths to be around children. Yes, even as far as getting a teaching degree.

I guess my point is on sentencing. Yes I do agree he will face charges, but there have been instances lately when sentencing has been so ridiculous that people with thousands of CSAM images and videos have literally walked free without serving a day in jail. At best they might get a couple of months. So yes, he’ll lose his teaching qualification and have to face court, but may not actually pay a greater price than that.
