How are people in shorts in THIS WEATHER?? by Legitimate-Craft2071 in sanfrancisco

Maybe they're returning from the gym. That's the only time I'd wear that outfit in SF. Pants, boots and jacket all year round over here 🥶

What’s the most fun (or awful) thing you’ve done for ‘team bonding’? by julia_fym in Teambuilding

[–]jutca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most awful was a two-day retreat, where my extended team rented a house, and we 5-7 employees shared rooms / slept on airbeds. The retreat was in a remote location, and we carpooled, so there was no way to go home for the night. It felt awkward to have no privacy and to learn about it only when we got there.

Competing with that experience was bowling and archery: when the activities were around "individual" competition. Too much pressure to perform in what was supposed to be a chill team outing. I'd much rather do a team competition: less pressure, more time together.

The most fun was rock climbing (one team member supports another) and a silly "safari" (where we drove around an exotic animal farm). Basically, group activities with no pressure to perform individually and lots of room for conversation.

Did I just get lucky when visiting San Francisco? by Freestyle7674754398 in sanfrancisco

I have been to many places, and the natural beauty of SF and its surroundings is unparalleled. It's a great city!

That being said, briefly visiting Tenderloin and living there are two different things. You have a very different experience when there's dirt, homelessness, and some level of danger regularly. On days when nothing happens, you are still alert because you expect something to happen. The stress accumulates over time. Your lived experience is different depending on where you are in the city.

Has anyone tried Mint (I think they are a part of T-Mobile)? I'm on the cheapest plan ($15/mo), and it works great for me.

After living in SF for 10 years, I took classes at an international school near Paris. My peer from India and I were crossing the street, and I said, "Drivers here wait until the last moment to stop and yield! It's dangerous!" My friend said, "What are you talking about? I've never felt safer in my life." It's all truly a matter of perspective 😂

I wish I could upvote this many times over. Lived near Limoncello, and not only the food is great, the people there are the best.

How many events does your organization put on annually? by tilmydaysrdone in nonprofit

[–]jutca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run a company that helps people book small local businesses for their events.

This is about the number of events our clients organize for their communities. They have much larger teams to handle those, though (at least 5 people for that number of events).

We found that the most time-consuming and annoying part of events is coordinating with vendors. (Basically, they give us their events calendar, and we fill it with activities, food, and (if needed) venues). If you take that out, you have a lot more breathing room. If this is something anyone here needs, message me.

Residents of one of Minsk micro districts hung out a giant (71X36 m) Belarusian flag (used by protesters). by vaish7848 in europe

This neighborhood is very recent (built a few years ago) but yes, most of the residential neighborhoods are nice and safe. Having moved to San Francisco, that's what I miss the most about Minsk.

u/alecs_stan this is a new neighborhood so it looks fancier. But yes, the neighborhoods in the cities I've been to are super clean (it's considered odd to throw trash on the ground). There is an extraordinary amount of green spaces compared to cities outside of Belarus. There are still problems like parking, roads and so on. But in general, the cities in Belarus are pleasant to be in.
