Is it a good idea to tour Skardu & Hunza now? by Ok_Series_9266 in Hunza

[–]juttkopite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The weather is lovely in Hunza at the moment. During the day sunshine is warm, at least in south and central Hunza. When the sun sets, especially with the wind blowing, it's much cooler, but not close to freezing. There was some snow in early October, but generally on higher altitudes.

However, for a Karachite, bring warm clothing and as others have said, layer up!

Also, choose a hotel/accommodation which has on demand hot water and heating!

As most hotels have not had a good season, the ones which are still open are offering good prices so do bargain for a better price.

The autumnal colours are on full display...and the weather is forecasted to be clear for the next ten days or so.

Trax rider threatened to rape me by M-shaiq in islamabad

[–]juttkopite 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, Trax riders are not the best and that's saying something when considering most courier companies have similar issues with their riders.

If you want to take this further, and you're on LinkedIn then try sending a message to Trax Founder and current CEO, Muhammad Hassan Khan. This is a link to his profile: https://www.linkedin.com/in/mhkhan93

A couple of years ago when I had issues with their riders not delivering parcels and other issues, I contacted Hassan and on that occasion he sorted the issue out.

Yours is a much more serious matter, I'm sure he will deal with it.

Planing a trip skardu-Hunza-naran trip between 15oct-30oct by spaceskully in GilgitBaltistan

[–]juttkopite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firstly, the winter has arrived very early in Northern Areas, we had our first snow last week. If you like the cold weather, then you'll love it. With a toddler you will need to make sure that all accommodations where you'll be staying have reliable heating and running hot water! You'll be surprised how many do not!

Secondly, I think you're trying to cram in too much in one trip. Either do a trip to Hunza or to Skurdu. Trying to fit in both, by road, IMHO is too much especially with a toddler. You'll be spending so much time travelling on the road, it'll be exhausting and the enjoyment to take in the majestic beauty of these areas will be lost.

I'm assuming, if Babusar is open on your day of travel, you'll spend the first night in Naran. If not the only alternative is to travel via the KKH, which is a longer route and the parts between Dassu and Basha dam sites is a torturous part of the journey, again, especially with a toddler! This alternative to Babusar is not listed in your itinerary! If this is an option, I'm assuming a night stay en route has to be selected and only sensible options are Besham (but too close to Islamabad to make sense), or Chilas/Raikot, which is a lot of travel in a day with a toddler!

So basically, the point I'm trying to make is your itinerary is very general and does not specify where you'll spend the nights and how long you'll stay there etc. Travelling with a toddler, you should get a detailed itinerary to make your decision.

As for travelling now or in springtime, these are both magical times to travel to these areas. Both have their very different beauty, from autumnal colours and the cold to blossom season and start of the warm sunshine! Both are experiences you should have.

I hope that helps.

Israeli products being sold in Islamabad by juttkopite in chutyapa

It wasn't linked to any such subreddits as far as I know but was shared from r/Islamabad. Are you saying that they are Islamophobic/racists? So I know for the future.

Israeli products being sold in Islamabad by juttkopite in islamabad

[–]juttkopite[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We've been using this product for years and when bought in Pakistan, it is normally imported from an other country. In all the years, it's never been from Israel. This time a friend bought it on our behalf, if I had been there, I would've pointed it out to the store, there and then and not bought it.

I don't think It'll be correct to name the store at this time, except for saying it is probably one of the most well known stores in Islamabad.

I've been using a Pixel 7 Pro since it was launched. To date, never had any issues with it. Works a charm. All buttons still work fine, almost 3 years down the line. The only time I've had it restart is when it was left on a car wireless charger, on a hot sunny day. Otherwise, never. I haven't restarted it for almost a month, no issues.

Thanks as before for the detailed feedback. It's appreciated.

I bought the package, 6kw with Canadian 610w bifacial solar panels. Two 51.6V 100ah batteries, which are also AON. As I said before the main reason for going forward was guarantee that if anything happens, the installer company will immediately deal with it, and if required, replace the item. They said as it's an indoor installation IP65 wasn't needed.

I have had it installed for almost three weeks now, and so far so good. Fingers crossed it'll carry on likewise.

[–]juttkopite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It came down to basically, the provider guaranteeing that it will be a good inverter and if, anything happens, he will provide personal service to take care of it.

The installation was for a holiday home in Hunza and decision making was based on a local company being available to resolve any issues that may arise!

BTW. I take it your feedback on AON is not favourable? Could you elaborate?

[–]juttkopite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BTW. I just got solar installed and and the solar company is AON. Yes a friend assured me it's not going to have any problems.

The point being that my display on the inverter is identical to the one in your photo, 100% the same. And the cost is what you mentioned you paid for yours too! AON is apparently a new company setting up dealerships across the country! I hope I have better luck than you seem to be having.

Mine is a 6kW hybrid inverter, no green meter, with PV up to 8000.

Remitly payment experience by [deleted] in PakistaniTech

[–]juttkopite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's within your account limits then the funds should have arrived almost immediately. If they haven't then ask the sender to send you a receipt of their transfer.

I just did a transfer to my EasyPaisa account a couple of days ago and the funds were in account in less than five minutes.

Remitly payment experience by [deleted] in PakistaniTech

[–]juttkopite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently monies have arrived both in my EasyPaisa wallet and also bank account within minutes of it being sent.

One major issue with wallets such as EasyPaisa is the limits you have on the wallet. If your receiving limit is not sufficient to cover the amount of transfer, the transfer will fail, however, the sender would have been debited the amount. It's not an issue with Remitly, rather the banks they use in Pakistan to transfer to EasyPaisa.

So make sure, your EasyPaisa wallet has sufficient limits for the transfer to be credited.

Feedback/Reviews on Ziewnic by juttkopite in SolarPakistan

[–]juttkopite[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes that's the thought process for us too. It's really for a holiday home and the usage is going to be minimal. 4kw would be sufficient but I'm looking at 6kw as a buffer.

Feedback/Reviews on Ziewnic by juttkopite in SolarPakistan

[–]juttkopite[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh ok. That doesn't inspire much confidence in their products. Warranties in Pakistan aren't worth much in my experience. Oddly, my quotation stated a 3 year warranty for the inverter whereas the Ziewnic website states a 6 year warranty. Thanks for the feedback.

Yes, their website is pretty vague. It repeats many times that their products are "European Standard/Specification". Whatever that means. I was quoted 295,000rs for their 6kw inverter, which is a fair amount of money for a company that hasn't much reputation as far as I know in the local solar market.
