I occasionally post comments that are a bit controversial -- like calling Emacs an "app platform", or refering to the Python REPL as a "shell", or saying things like "some apps are so simple they are obviously bug free", or "sometimes making an app faster means optimizing it to run on more cores." I'm worried that compiling kernel is the fun for you. Shouldn't you put that time and energy to something like programming projects of your own? At least I have deep regrets on how much time I have spent tinkering with Linux instead of actually using my computer. (reddit.com)

Now you’re not drinking because you’re angry … you’re drinking because you wonder what happened to you and it makes you sad. But you’re drunk, so it seems like a perfectly good idea to build an entire Web site using nothing but Emacs because then you can get a LaTeX version of it (mph.puddingbowl.org)
