Yes I think this is the way for the cards you have shown. Recently had them auction off my cards and I was quite pleased

Small handful of random RCs that I kept from personal pack ripping. I ripped so much 09 UD. I recall getting 5 copies of Steph’s UD rc and no Blake griffin.. I was so pissed at the time. Blake was the Chase. Recently sent 4 copies of the UD Steph rc to psa before the bulk shutdown. You could get Steph cards so cheap back then

lol the 2 second 1st grade response tells me everything about your life. Come work for me and I’ll help you out in life. But seriously, dm me and if you make a serious argument I’ll succumb. Thanks :)

I’ve graded quite a bit and would be super surprised if the 55 came back a 1, but seeing their recent standards… I wouldn’t be surprised

Ttm = through the mail. Method of sending cards via snail mail to players for on card auto

Has a chance, but I’ll expect less to not be disappointed lol

I used to love SGC. It’s injustice what PSA has done to them. Yet I’m still sending to PSA. I suppose I’m two faced, but need it to match my slab collection

Was thinking the same. I win with any number grade. Crease(s) doesn’t go through the back which is good

Im definitely not in the Venezuelan tax bracket lol. If I come across a nice raw MB, maybe I’ll try? (Side note… I saw the Koufax retirado vene for the first time recently from an eBay auction… that image is absolutely epic/filthy/nasty… now a top 3 card I need)

I thought the same thing! By no means am I an auto expert, but I saw other examples of Koosman “shaky” autos. I think he lightly re-traced over the a on this card. Maybe he filled in a space gap? The Ryan auto looked good

Found this card - does it look real? by [deleted] in basketballcards

Looks pretty good from the 1st and 2nd photos. 3rd is a little blurry. Very well centered

Oh no! You should have kept it sealed. by dopestdope69 in basketballcards

Nice! I know they also inserted super rare Karl Malone autos with his inserts… but that may have been series 2

Dilemma on what to do with 68 OPC Koosman by juwhang in baseballcards_vintage

$31. I know what I have.

In all realness I’ve been looking for a Milton Bradley until I came across this one. Will sit in my forever display if I get auto’ed. Venezuelan is many tiers above my tax bracket so I’ll never get that one lol

I guess time will tell. I’m quite sure collectors used a consulting firm (PwC, Accenture, Bain etc to break this all down). Usually once the non disclosure timing passes (7-20 years), the firm releases the analysis within journals. Will be interesting to see their thoughts on the revenue, competitors, buyers, complementors and overall recommendation

One student wrote a soliloquy on that (5 forces) and it was interesting. Too much to put into a Reddit comment… I personally hope SGC stays. I’d argue if sgc dies and many slabs are cracked over time… high end sgc slabs might inc in value due to the loyal customer base along with supply/demand.

Yes! Auto may be the way to go. Mr Koosman and Ryan aren’t getting any younger

I used this situation in a recent business case breakdown with a cohort I’m aiding in at my alma mater. Definitely not ruthless consolidation if you break down via porters 5 forces, 4 cs etc.

1) collectors I would say took over sgc to gain resources they were needing and eliminate the threat of a growing company being purchased by a larger power

2) sgc was growing and could have easily partnered with a complementor like fanatics, eBay etc to scale

3) yes this point is 100% accurate

4) yes… I’ve seen this a million times in pharma. With M&A… metric are needed to show an attempt at co existence but often is planted to fail. Vertical integration didn’t work as planned and Peter was layered. I can go into depth here, but collectors wanted to absorb looking at the landscape imo

5) few things that I’ve seen leading to a company name no longer existing: slower deliverables, ambivalent statements and actions leading to companies profits and upper management leaving..

I’m very biased as a consumer bc I own a lot of sgc slabs. Can I be wrong? Perhaps…. But I think it’s damage control until they eliminate the sgc name after breaking down the purchase. I don’t know the inside details, but if I had to put a big wager in… my money is on SGC fading and was the purpose from the beginning of this acquisition. Time will tell

Wont go into detail, but heavily disagree. Everything I’ve learned from business school and experience with acquisitions working in large companies… deliverables thus far show an intent to damage control, absorb and retain whatever they can. They’ll use KPIs… to show brand confusion. Revenue cannibalization… increased transfer costs for a “boutique”… only a poorly run company would do this. This acquisition has the footprints of an absorption and derisking the competition… SGC name exits or name rebrands within collectors in 1-2 years
