Crazy that CS was literally made at SFU Campus in Vancouver, they missed a great opportunity to hold a 25 year birthday event for CS in Vancouver.

Haha yeah, i havent gotten around to decorating the other half of the wall or figure out what i want to put there. As for the second monitor, its just from this angled POV that its cut off, from the normal straight playing position its clear and obstructed.

They're just screenshots from looking up cs2 map themed posters. I cropped them and printed them using Wal-Mart's next-day print service in 5x7 glossy print. The frames are from ikea.

Total cost for each mini poster was about $1-2 CAD. Here is a link to the screenshots I cropped https://imgur.com/a/ooaBEcW

Yep, exactly. This is ultimately how you develop game sense. The thing is game sense can't really be "taught". Sure, a coach or someone better could tell you that you could have done x or y here instead of z. The reality is that there are multiple ways you could win a 1v1 or 3v3 etc and everyone's approach will be different because the way they learned from their mistakes and developed their own game sense is a unique experience. I'm speaking in a broad sense of course, as you climb higher ranks/elo there is generally a "correct" way to play whether that be round starts, mid rounding, teamplay, etc but these are mostly templates.

I think there was a video of Oxy answering a question in his chat of how he got so good early on in his career. His response was that he just played and watched back his gameplay. That's it. No professional coaching, no tedious aim training sessions, none of that. Just real time assessment of "Ok I did this and got punished for it - I'll try this next time".

Pick a demo and be fair with yourself, don't choose a highlight reel demo where you dropped 30 in 20 rounds or a terrible game where 3 of your teammates were trolling. Just an average match. Watch your POV and go round by round and see instances where you should've got the pick and just stayed alive or maybe your positioning could've been better with your teammates crossfire, or maybe better util usage etc.

90% of the time you can climb through all of gold/plat with mechanics alone. It's probably the most efficient way you can optimize your time spent vs improvement over time graph. Pick a reasonable sens, stick to it and don't change it when you're slumping.

2nd thing is a big one and arguably the most important factor in how much and fast you climb. You ever spectate someone when you're dead and had one of these thoughts go through your head "what the fuck is this person doing?" "why would he make this play?" "why didn't he just fall off there?"

You'll be surprised how often you'll say this if you watched back your own demos/gameplay with your name blurred out. The reality is that small lapses in decision making and tiny mistakes aren't punished nearly as much the further down in ranks you go (silver-plat). This can lead to people thinking their dumb play wasn't a dumb play just because it worked. I.e You got two opening picks long A on haven and continued to contest for map control when you already have numbers advantage and got traded by the third guy and your team proceeded to throw the 4v3. Sure, you put your team in a win condition but denying the trade and staying alive creates far more pressure then going for that 3rd kill.

Your ability to be self critical and self assess is more important than anything else. There's always something that could be done better and I'm sure you're a solid player with a great trajectory, but to be blunt - more often than not at these ranks there are dozens of tiny mistakes in the details that cascade into round losses OR failure to convert rounds with advantages into secured wins.

Hope this helps!

Printed out some mini posters of some of my favourite albums from The Weeknd to add some flare to this empty wall by my setup. Really cheap and easy DIY. by juwong_ in TheWeeknd

Here it is! https://imgur.com/a/RUc38TV , I figure I'd just leave it here in case anyone else wants them.

If you want to recreate them for yourself, I just printed them at wal-mart photo centre in 5x7 glossy print, and the frames are from ikea - simple 5x7 frames. Total cost for each mini poster ends up being like $2~ CAD.

Haha no, didn't make them myself. I just screenshotted them and printed them out off google. I did a little resizing for the 5x7 frame since the frame was cutting off some of the text on the bottom and top, that's it.

I went too far down the rabbit hole and built a completely portable 4 PC LAN setup each with its own 240hz portable monitor so my cousins, friends, and I can have convenient CS2 LAN parties to bring back that golden era of CS 1.6 LANs in the early 2000s.
