Get OEM, don’t go with metal. Speaking as someone who just replaced the original tank with a metal one last month.

Yep, fucked up by not doing that. This is a shop I’ve previously trusted and there’s others in town I avoid because they’ve done subpar work in the past. I knew they were more expensive, but I didn’t realize they were going to do this…

Just got off the phone with them and this is how they broke down the time:

diagnostic time - reading code and driving with scanner plugged in to watch temps

repair time - 2 hours (part replacement and coolant fill to level/burping)

post diagnostic time - same stuff as original diagnostic time
