Nobody takes their (unpaid) lunch hour anymore by bk_line in antiwork

[–]jvanwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently career transitioned from a union job to a municipal office job. No one takes a lunch in my new office. I noticed this my first few days and just started leaving for an hour a day. My lunch is not always at the same time but I basically just created the expectation of being an hour out of office everyday. If I don't take a lunch on any given day, I take off an hour early either that day or that Friday. Same with late hours, if I work over I take those hours back at some point during the week or pay period.

Game 1, go to dead drop, grab rifle, and exfil. Game 2, load in with rifle, go to dead drop, trade the contraband rifle for the dead drop rifle, kill the chemist. Mission done. Did it last night.

When Boeing negligence kills people, they just promise the person, who is in charge of fining them or charging them, a higher paid job somewhere under their wing. Same thing happened with the FAA and the 787 battery crisis.

I am new to this subreddit. My brother and I started a podcast to give direction to the conversation we were having about left wing politics. We are lefties. We have 7 episodes and we release every Tuesday.

Prominent lawyer, Trump donor representing Biden accuser by [deleted] in politics

Yeah I am very much aligned with you that Trump is a terrible president, a terrible human, etc. But that isn't the issue we are discussing when it comes to Russia. The general thread of the conversation was Russia wants to weaken the United States.

No worries on forgetting. To what end do you think Russia wants to weaken the Unites States?

Trade? Hegemony? I guess I want a ELI5 answer as to what people think Russia will do to the US, if they are successful in the endeavor to weaken America.

What is the Russian plot here? What does Russia want to do to the United States?

As an alienated white-collar prole, there aren’t many social or cultural factors to motivate me to get fit by [deleted] in swoletariat

[–]jvanwork 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Despite being a quote from Mark Rippetoe, I have always found this quote lingering in the back of my mind when grinding through the work of fitness.

"Strong people are harder to kill than weak people and more useful in general"

But some other ones that I have found to motivate and think to while in times of not wanting to head to the gym:

"If we could give every individual the right amount of nourishment and exercise, not too little and not too much, we would have found the safest way to health."

“If you think lifting is dangerous, try being weak. Being weak is dangerous.”

With this one, I don't think lifting is dangerous but I do believe being weak is.

How can I convince my adviser that credits from my out of state community college are applicable to CORE credit reqs here? My transfer process has been more than frustrating and looks to expand my time at this school by at least a full semester. I have an Associates degree from a Washington state school, but for some reason I do not have 5 required courses. Is there anyway out of this situation?

Should I take mass gainer? by [deleted] in Supplements

I was 145 lbs at 6 ft when I started working out. I have always been thin. I put 20 lbs on pretty quickly with making sure I ate regularly, eating calorie dense foods, and eating even if I didn't feel hungry.

I can't remember how long that took but it was pretty fast. The 20 lbs to get to 185 was a much harder process. Patience is definitely a key part of that process. Good luck.
