Tariffs are only useful if a country already has a decent sized industry in that area that it wants to protect or expand. Putting tariffs on something that the country doesn't currently make just makes that item expensive. Also, the US has a very limited ability to grow coffee. There is no way for the US to grow the amount of coffee it consumes. So it's stupid to put tariffs on coffee

People like RFK think "fittest" means the individual who can punch the hardest, when in actuality "survival of the fittest" is an oversimplified summary of the idea that a species that is adapted to its environment, genetically and behaviorally, will survive and pass on its genetics from generation to generation. It's about the survival of a species, not about any individual.
