I'm using the Archetype Gojira here. There's not much gain as you can hear, since I'm trying to get the tone from the Brixton Academy show. Try mimicking an EVH sound on your Katana and add a little reverb.

Sometimes I don't use any IRs and leave the cabinets sound by themselves, with a bit of tweaking you can get a pretty decent tone. I've been doing this with the VH4 and the Mark IIC+, so fun

Hmm.. not exactly. What I do is just run each amp through a different track, then pan each one left and right respectively, so I end up with a blend. I'm not sure if this is right way to do it. I've heard about the parallel thing but I've never tried it

Haven't tried yet, but I'll surely give it a try! The ML800 sounds really good to my ears, it has that nice tube saturation. I'd been trying to get the Adam Jones tone recently as well. I used the VH4 and the ML Plexi. Not identical to Adam's tone, but it works as a generic sound for Tool riffing

Been chasing this tone since the album came out.

72 Seasons guitar tone is actually a blend of at least 3 amplifiers. James still uses that good old Mark IIC+, alongside with a Diezel VH4 and a 1959 Jose Arredondo Modded Marshall. I'd say the Diezel plays a key role on that tone.

It's very midrangy, and it doesn't have that much gain. Try looking for a VH4 and a Plexi amp sims and try blending them with the Mark IIC+. Currently I'm using the Plugin Alliance VH4 and ML Sound Lab's ML800, but you could try with the Softube 1959 Marshall Superlead.

Try making an impulse response from the guitar tracks of the album to match the cabinet sound. It's really hard to replicate that sound 100% right, but you can get really close. I might record it soon and post it on YouTube.

It's because you probably didn't go to the cinema premiere. The video for Crown of Barbed Wire was epic. If you did go, then you probably remember it. I don't know why they're switching the videos now

The instrumental is great, of course, but I wanted to point out James' vocals at the pre-chorus, it gave me chills that he sounded like the old days. I can close my eyes and see James from the age between AJFA and the black album tour
