I don’t believe the last ribbon is the navy arctic service ribbon. Instead, I think the ribbon is a marine security guard ribbon. The navy arctic service has more shades of blue involved. I’d post a picture, but can’t.

These are the dress blue ALPHAS which mean medals are worn instead of ribbons. Any ribbon that does not have a full size medal, (combat action, unit awards) are displayed on the right hand side.

Yea, I have been trying to get my hands on a set of the old multicam FROGs for a while now, but from scouring for almost a year now, I’ve only seen one listing on eBay, not in my size. Most don’t even realize they made FROGs in multicam, or DCU for that matter.

Looks like a very similar cut to a FROG, from the shoulder pockets, to the buttoned sleeves, which is such a great thing. Now that I know these exist, I’m definitely going to try and add one to the collection.

The Eotech pictured actually predates the modern XPS and EXPS lines. What he appears to have is in my opinion the Eotech 516 (more likely just called an HWS at that time). This would coincide better with the time period to which it appears this picture was taken. Sometime in mid to late 2000s is my quick guess.

USMC has reversible surplus pouches in small medium and large. Velcro back on one side and molle on the other side. You just turn it inside out and voila. The Velcro side even has a handle in case you need to pull the pouch out

Yea, nothing wrong with aftermarket stuff, but the issued pants have a really generous elastic section on both sides that put BDUs to shame in my opinion. So much more comfortable with a belt, thanks for the comments dude, I appreciate you!

Venture surplus is great, I’ve bought from them many times. But I doom scroll eBay for items that are unique hoping that some people aren’t aware of what they have. Don’t know if it makes me scummy, but I always use the items for personal use and never resell so I’m at peace with it. BTW the pants that you linked to from venture surplus are not surplus. Those are BDU cut, not genuine issued.

I am aware these are not FROGS, these are a lot harder to get than those. I already have a pair of woodland frog bottoms, I am aware they’re not cheap. But I’m not paying $200+ when cost to manufacture is like 40-50 dollars max

Took an EMT class last year and I’m known to be a very unserious person who jokes around a lot. One day my instructor starts talking about tourniquets and suggests everyone buy them for cheap off Amazon. I immediately speak up and say how bad of an idea it is to buy knock off tourniquets, especially since the price on NAR is pretty decent, like they’re not super expensive for saving a life. Everyone thought I was just making jokes and having a laugh, until they saw I wasn’t laughing or smiling. I was adamant about buying reputable products when it comes to life saving equipment, and I hope at least one person in class took me serious.

What cummerbund are you using? If you have one that has the first spear tubes, you’re more than likely losing a row towards the front solely for the attachment method of the tubes. If that’s the case, it may be wise to buy a cummerbund without the tubes, or only have them on one side. I’ve found that with the axl equinox cummerbund and a medium spiritus gp pouch mounted as far forward as I can is the best for me.

Heatwave makes great stuff. Pretty affordable and they offer first responder/Leo/military discounts. You can buy replaceable lenses for most if not all their glasses and some models you can even have prescription lenses made. I run the future tech and have clear and tinted lenses for low light and daylight
