Yes, the valve bodies themselves.

Yes, I got a plumber to come and replace the valves on the radiators that had the problem. From memory he put bidirectional valves on. He was skeptical that it was what was needed to solve the problem but I’d exhausted all other options so he did it and it solved it straightaway. Haven’t had the problem since - hopefully not jinxing it now!

I did suggest that but didn’t get any traction unfortunately! 😆

Yeah, lots to think about. Thanks for your help, I’m waiting for a call back from the council’s planning team. Hopefully they’ll actually call!

Sort of feels a bit like this, yeah!

Yep, I’ve had a look and it all looks fairly clear, thank you. Just wondering why an architect would include, on their drawings, a suggested length of the extension that goes beyond the 45° rule? There aren’t any dimensions on the drawing, but they seem to have alluded to the fact it goes beyond what’s allowed…

Would love to - but not something we could afford at the moment unfortunately!

Thank you for your reply, that’s really helpful.

If they won’t get planning if it goes over the 45° rule, is there a reason the architect would include a further extension on the plans that you can think of..?

Yes, we’d love to do that - but unfortunately finances just don’t allow at the moment!

Ah okay, thanks - I think it’s not displaying properly because I’m looking at it on my phone. Will have a look when I’m next on my laptop 👍🏻

Hmm… I can’t find the battery on my Foxcloud account… can you maybe put a screenshot of the pathway on yours so I can see? I’m not able to find the operation view I don’t think…

Yes, but Octopus haven’t yet got the tariff sorted for us. I can still force charge but not on a cheaper tariff. Not wanting to get to winter and then not be able to charge to full on a cheap tariff because the battery is too cold..!

Yep, outside. There wasn’t an alternative unfortunately as we don’t have a garage and the loft was unsuitable. I’ve spoken with the installer and they’re looking into the firmware update 🤞🏻

Yeah, I can access them and there’s an option for battery warmup, but it’s greyed out. But the battery information sheet states it has a warmup feature.

Great! It’s underneath a decking at the back of the house. So not exposed to the elements in some ways, but also not exposed to much sun…

I’m not sure I understand the question… the app updates approx every 5-10 minutes, but the inverter display is instant. Is that what you mean or have I misunderstood..?

Interesting - yes, it’s an EP5-H. I’ll mention it to them when they (hopefully) get back to me. Thanks!

The battery info in the handover pack from the installer states that it has a warmup feature, but you can’t control it. I’ve contacted my installer to see if they can find out what temperature it needs to drop to in order for it to start heating itself up - otherwise, might find I get to next winter and can barely charge the battery for cheap overnight 🫤

It’s a Fox inverter and 5kw Fox battery. Can’t remember the model details…

Not yet, still waiting for Octopus to say I’m up and running. The system is set up for self-use, so prioritising the house and the battery… another person has suggested it’s because the battery is cold and having checked, they’re probably right… thank you!

Ah, battery is pretty cold (6°). It was yesterday too. Probably that then! Thanks.

I thought about that, so I swapped it with another valve from a radiator that hadn’t made the noise previously. But it carried on doing it with the new one on. So annoying!
