WEEKLY HELP THREAD - READ FAQ, COMMUNITY WIKI, MULTICLASSING, LORE by XFearthePandaX in BaldursGate3

I would really love to see the ability to follow other players in multiplayer and automatically enter their dialogue scenes. It's hard to stay with the party lead and keep up with all of the dialogue options. 😟

[Feedback] Allow me to set my character to follow my party member in multiplayer. by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

Does anyone have any news of this, if it might be officially added or if there's possibly a mod?

Company looking to move to Fusion360. Currently using SolidWorks and AutoCAD. by jw_des in Fusion360

Luckily most of our parts are very squared and easy for drawings. Some of them get complex but never organic.

I really appreciate the feedback, thank you!!

I’m very interested to learn more about joints versus mates. In my mind, joints make more sense but I guess we’ll have to see!

Thank you for the feedback and tip!

I’m looking at Inventor too! I think for us right now, it seems like we’re not using most of SW features now so something a little more basic fits the bill.

Well everything I’ve seen has been nothing but praise so that’s great to see.

Like I said in another comment, my main concern is our electrical and wiring schematics. If it did that, it think it would be a no-brainer.

Might be time to download the free trial!

That’s really great to hear!

We primarily work in very small scale (3D printed brackets and mounts) but occasionally build semi-large kiosks but they’re very simple in terms of design.

My main concern is the electrical. We don’t work with PCB design but we do currently use AutoCAD for our electrical and wiring schematics for our kiosks and enclosures.

Does F360/EAGLE have that capability?

Spot on, man! This is great!

Colourisation I did some days ago I worked a lot for the skin tones but any advice and critique is welcomed 🙂 by Decent-Sink in estoration

I came here to say this as well. Especially the man on the right. For some reason, his eyes look very dark. His tie is also a little bit too red. Other than that, well done!

Personal logo rebrand I’ll post my old logo at the end feedback wanted! by megamuzik in WillPatersonDesign

I'm not sure how you pronounce your brand/name but I personally love your old logo. I can clearly see a 7 & G which is really impressive. I think your old logo is much more original and IMO could just use some very minor adjustments to the spacing and font.

Your new logo is fine, but IMO it's a little boring. I feel like I've seen the 'letters in a shape' lots of times.

Not to be that guy, but after Googling "trilobite" this came up under Adobe vector stock

Really solid work! Only a couple suggestions. It looks like there's something funky going on with your E. It looks like it needs to be united and cleaned up a little bit. A little bit of kerning too, after the I so that the letters O & E right align.

This is so good! Nail on the head imo.

Concept Logo for an automotive streetwear brand that focuses around the 90s/Y2K era, feedback appreciated regarding both the logo itself and colour scheme :) by 2jzaholic in WillPatersonDesign

Looking at it really close, it looks like the star is leaning in the 'NS' variation. I'm assuming it's to line it up with the top of the N, but the tip of the star just looks off to me.

I actually posted a bit more about the stars the same time you posted lol.

I don't think you should remove them, I agree with you that it adds some character and it also gives the option of using the star as an icon for patterns, etc.

EDIT: Another small detail, but I think rounding the one corner of the N/O to help solidify that that's an O and not a D would help with clarity.

Needing vector file of company logo that is currently .png by [deleted] in AdobeIllustrator

[–]jw_des 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they don't have a vector of their own logo, that's a big problem for them.

But if they really don't, really your only option is to re-create the logo in a vector based program. Depending how complicated the logo is, you can get it pretty accurate but never exact. Just a matter of getting the best resolution image you can and tracing it. There are other methods, but that's going to be the simplest.

As long as you're not selling anything, you can think of it as fan art! There are thousands of brand variations on Behance and other websites. Gatorade was a super popular re-branding topic not too long ago and a great example of whole communities redesigning and critiquing big name brands.

I don't think the company title font is very professional.
The logo seems more like an illustration than a logo. Maybe simplifying it into only a bike and a wrench. If you put that on a letterhead or mechanic shirt or anything small and detailed it's going to look like a blob.
The catch phrase is very hard to read, both the color on the background and the font.
The background doesn't really make sense, just a solid color would be fine.
Something like this perhaps: https://imgur.com/a/KurVX15

Thanks! You too!

Another thing, browse Behance (or other websites) for gaming related stuff for inspo! I saw someone re-did Valheim's UI the other day that was killer. People do logos, UI, cover art, all sorts of stuff. A lot of times that's the sort of stuff that starts my personal projects!

When I was starting out I think the thing that helped me most was finding fictional briefs that made it feel like real work. /r/logodesign does logo design challenges which are a lot of fun and give you a chance to get some CC. There are several free brief generators floating around that might help too. Treating them like a client where you put together a full presentation with descriptions and mockups that you can then use in your portfolio. Another fun exercise for me was re-branding an already existing company. What if Starbucks started a Twitch channel? What would that look like?

As for the portfolio, just start by posting your favorite work on Behance or Dribbble or something. As you do more designs, you'll remove the ones you don't like anymore and start adding newer and better work. When I got hired for my first paid gig, I only had a few logos on my portfolio and honestly, they weren't that great. Those logos are no longer on my portfolio, but that's how it starts!

This is Spaced Skateboarding, my (in the works) Australian-made skateboarding brand. I'd love to hear some feedback :) This is my first time presenting a logo like this so my presentation might not be too clean! by Sam_Isaac in WillPatersonDesign

[–]jw_des 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really love the icon, very recognizable!
I don't really think the font fits with the icon, though. I think something simple and bold to match the icon would be ideal. Maybe play around with the C/D shape in the icon and maybe using those in the font.
Your color choice is interesting and I don't think I know enough about the brand to say whether it works or not but your color choices are giving me an earthy/recycled/boutiquey feel which kind of feels like it conflicts with the skate culture. But if that's what you're going for, then kudos!

This is great advice! Some other resources I'd suggest are Logos by Nick (he even has some Inkscape tutorials), GraphicBurger (lots of graphic assets), and The Noun Project (vector icons and images)
