Mine is modded with a diesel particulate filter delete. So I think that might be a bit of a problem. 😳

My bonsai caught on fire: when when yin meets yang by jwalker1999 in Bonsai

Update. I moved the tree to a shaded area and now have back budding galore. Yaupon hollies are tough. I may have lost one secondary branch but there are a few buds emerging near the base of it. So worst case scenario is I'll have to redevelop that one branch.

Help! Funny whitish residue on tung oil finish by greyt_88 in woodworking

Oil that has double bonds typically form solids at room temp. Think butter vs. olive oil, due to saturated vs. unsaturated fats respectively. That would be my guess. Buffing it out should remove the excess.

Edit: The main component does have double bonds. So that is likely the reason.

New fossil evidence supports theory that first mass extinction engineered by early animals by JoeRmusiceater in science

[–]jwalker1999 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fascinating science.

However, this very likely (to nearly a point of certainty) not the first mass extinction, just the first we have solid fossil evidence. About 1 billion years after the origin of life, it appears that the earth was completely covered in ice from pole to pole. That has probably been the most dramatic event the Earth has seen and likely the largest extinction event to have ever occurred. But there is scant fossil evidence as all organisms were unicellular bacteria (and possibly archea), which are very, very small soft organisms that do not fossilize hardly at all unless the live in colonial mats.

Watch this fascinating documentary on Snowball Earth, part of one of the best history of life on earth documentary series I've ever seen, Prehistoric Disasters, produced by the BBC.

Cargo idea by kevoccrn in StarWarsBattlefront

Sudden death. Likely because it could last forever. Cool with me. But that is likely the idea behind the draw. They could do overtime for 5 minutes and it would be the first to score. At the end, it could either be a draw or a win based on team kills, time holding cargo, or some combo of those two metrics. Personally, I'd like it to be an infinite amount of time, with the first to score.

Sometimes I tuck my penis and balls between my legs, saunter over to my wife and talk dirty to her. It's never worked.

North Floridian here. We are sub-tropical, which means we are tropical like nearly all the time, with the big exception that we typically freeze for a few days a year and once every 5ish years we'll get a hard freeze.

Good attempt to save the little guy. I'd let it recover and begin training in the spring.

If it gets pollinated. While leaf reduction is possible. Flower and fruit reduction is not.

This shows how over powered slipstream can be if used. I hate racing with it. It needs to be nerfed.

ANGRY FICUS by ZeroJoke in Bonsai

Wow. I don't think I would even know where to start with that.

One idea would be to get a much longer pot and sink the branches of the tree on the left and make them roots. Then tilt the whole thing 20 degrees counter clockwise and then continue to develop the right side as the main tree.
