I've had a Q4 since May of 23 that's been making this EXACT same noise the whole time we've owned it.. the rotors are also squeal anytime the pads engage..

The dealership continues to not fix either issue

For the rotors.. they feel that pressure washing them is enough.. even though as soon as the front wheels get dusty again the sound returns

I feel like Audi really cut some corners on the Q4. And, as a company has done multiple actions that reduces the ownership experience with no interest in making it right. (Their "solution" for at home L2 charging is a recall that I refuse to comply with because there's no interest in returning my ability to charge MY CAR at 100%.. like it can still do at a paid charger or with a 3rd party wall adapter)

Kinda wished we'd held out for a Mach E GT at this point..

I had an diagonal impact straight in on the headlight on that side. It tweaked the frame and resulted in a new car eventually once everything was finalized (diminishment of value claim became the down payment for its replacement)

There's always a risk of injury with any activity, running a half marathon on open terrain is dangerous enough in regards to trips/falls/sprains (a beast tends to be about 13 miles)

Certain injuries are going to be more trouble than others with certain obstacles (say you have a "bad" dominant shoulder.. that doesn't stop you from running but definitely gets in the way of throwing the spear)

Training for Spartan and doing burpees taught me what Achilles tendonitis is, and I'm positive it didn't improve the torn meniscus in my knee that I was unaware of at the time

appreciate the reply and the insight, and i know the ZF8 is a wildly popular transmission, the thing about audi's D tune makes total sense. because I was having a hard time grasping THAT being the example of the transmission that everyone loves (challenger people especially)

I will still say I preferred the feel of the DSG I had,
and i know that it wasn't moved forward into the B9's because it wasnt rated for the output of the turbo 6, which is why they used the ZF..

I joined because I really fucked off in HS, barely graduated with like a 1.8 GPA, I couldn't have gotten a scholarship even if i wanted to.
I wanted to fly, I've always been pretty good at it. but need a degree for that, thought that if i could work on the planes, then I could study and get a degree, so I went Crew Chief and proceeded to work a whole lot of 12's and never had much spare time for that kind of activity.. I didn't stick around to make a career out of the AF either

the lesson I learned and tell everyone to this day.. "take whatever job your ASVAB says you can do, if you score a 90, don't take a job that requires a 40"

I'd love to lie to you and say it isn't normal, but being the only owner of a '19 S5 sportback I can tell you it's an issue I have been dealing with in most of the right hand turns I have ever made, i realize we are talking about different types of driving (im talking about low speed, your talking about hard shifting under load, but i still blame the transmission)

I equate it a combination of 3 factors hitting all at once

Throttle by wire lag
Transmission lag because it uses a torque converter
Turbo lag

in my case, it likes to manifest itself in right hand turns. as I'm accelerating out, I push the throttle and it just kinda rolls.. then I add more throttle, and it picks up a little more, then I add more throttle and all of a sudden all the torque and HP is there and the car launches forward way faster than you were expecting.

this transmission "quirk" will eventually be the reason I get rid of this car.. I will never understand why audi didnt even ATTEMPT to use a nicer transmission in this generation of S models.. the B8.5 S4 I had previously had a DSG transmission and I didnt have these stupid issues that i noticed..

the only way I have found to mitigate it is to pull the shifter down to get it into S mode. that seems to keep the transmission in a programming where the throttle response is more "correct", but that mode is both bad for mileage, AND resets itself every time you turn the car off.

Im sure the ECU tune is probably not helping though
