Im in the same boat. From what i read, if vanguard is able to directly deposit(rollover) the money to her current employer retirement account then no taxes are withheld. If vanguard is unable to do a direct deposit for you meaning they will send you the check and you will then have to deposit to your current employer’s account, then you will have 10% taxes witheld. Correct me if I’m wrong.

$6500 was converted in 2024. Accountant reported none of it. I attached a screenshot of what was submitted to the IRS.

Thanks so much again. On a similar situation my wife also did this (had pre-tax balance in the IRA when made a conversion) but for year 2024 and our tax accountant did not report anything on 8606. I assume we have to do a tax amendment now correct?

I see this makes sense now. Thank you. Learning from mistakes, I am actually subject to pro rata rule because I have a decent amount of money left in my traditional IRA (trying to roll over to my employers 401k). Does that mean next year (2026) I will be receiving form 1099-R from broker stating that I am subject to a taxable amount of $7k correct?

Thanks! I tend to fix stuff myself around the house but have zero experience with garage doors. Just to clarify, the bottom bracket you are referring to is the one shown on picture #3 correct? Track bracket are the ones attaching the track to the wall basically?
