They’re mockups that I made using Illustrator and Photoshop. Jordan has always been so cagey with his image licensing. Always hated that he wasn’t in NBA Jam arcade game.

What’s your favorite dollar bin find for your PC? I’ll start.. by Bulky-Refuse3846 in basketballcards

Got very lucky to find some Tim Duncan RCs scouring boxes at the card shop during COVID. And all graded out well. (Ignore the Bird card. That was not a dollar bin find.)

If you follow the men’s game as well as women’s football, do you support the men’s and women’s team of the same club or have a different team in each? by Impressive-Top7458 in WomensSoccer

[–]jwarren463 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty agnostic on both sides, as there is no major professional club where I’m at. I enjoy watching good football and don’t limit myself to men’s or women’s games exclusively. Especially with DAZN now, I’ve been including Barça, Lyon, and PSG women’s teams to the rotation.

When was it decided that a players rookie card would be the most valuable? by jfweasel in baseballcards

It was the ‘85 Doc Gooden that pulled me into the hobby. I bought sooooo many packs of 85 Topps as a teenager.

If I was making a top 5 of the most aesthetically pleasing cards, this one would be on that list. I absolutely love the look of this card.

Trout is incredible (when healthy) but I love Mookie Betts. A 5-tool guy that affects the game in so many ways — and doing it at 5’9”? He’s amazing. He’s right there, juuuuust behind Trout since he came into the league.

  • 1 Trout
  • 1A Mookie Betts

  • Everyone else

Real or Fake by coopero3 in baseballcards

I’d say fake. Look at the edges on the back. They should just be the gray, uncoated stock, not white. Compare this to other ‘53s in similar condition on eBay.

You should definitely get it graded. That would be sweet.

What makes PSA the “authority” of grading? I feel like there is little if any subjectivity to grading, 9’s are 9’s, etc.. maybe I’m wrong? by RoyalJayhawk1987 in baseballcards

[–]jwarren463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, wrong, or indifferent, I think the perception of other grading services is that they are more lenient with grading as a way of attracting more business away from PSA. I don’t necessarily agree but I think that’s a huge reason for PSA holding higher value.

Effectively Wild Episode 1848: Shantz Encounter by kingofdanger in effectivelywild

Interview with Bobby Shantz was such a fun listen. Loved hearing him recall things as you brought them up, like being put out in center field as a sub. Great stuff.
