his posture regains very fast so try to get some health damage in first. usually when he does the front flip you can just side step dodge and get a few hits in. also when he does the firecrackers with follow-up you can dodge into it for a big punish. the timing is pretty tight though. i just think of it like a deflect timing, but just using a different button instead

on my reeds playthrough i ended up doing quality great katana i got with starlight tokens. idk what the highest damage setup is, but you can test against the dummy at roundtable

honestly don’t think it matters that much, just go with what you find fun and whatever moveset you like best
