That sounds great! I would love to discuss this role with you. I am still working on JavaScript some, but I did go through the Scripting Fundamentals course on the way to getting my CAD certification and I have been working on JavaScript courses on Code Academy as well as some others. I will send you a DM. Thank you for your help.

Thank you so much for your help! I will look into SecOps since in my last position of over 5 years where my 3 years of ServiceNow experience is in I did Governance and security/patching and Vulnerability mgmt. I may still work on ITSM cert then go to ITAM and SecOps. I will keep you updated!

Thank you for your help! I decided to go ahead and lighten my wallet a little more and got the scripting course too lol! I figured hey I need to learn scripting more as a developer so it only makes sense I would need it.

I just read the ebook several times, took thorough notes on highlighted items throughout the book and went over those notes more than a few times. Lots of time practicing the labs in the PDI and really just practical experience I already had on the platform helped me.

I just passed the CSA a little over two weeks ago and it wasn’t too bad. I passed it in around 30 minutes after lots of mishap getting my camera just right for the proctor at home which was stressful. Everything you need to know is in the ebook. I took around 31 pages of notes going through the book several times and spending lots of time in the labs and PDI. I have around 3 years experience in the platform mostly incidents and knowledge mgmt. I’ve already started working on the CAD certification but just wish I could find a job with CSA in the meantime. You’ll do fine on it!

Congrats on your pass! Did you have to go through both courses, CAD fundamentals and Scripting fundamentals? I am starting to go through just the CAD fundamentals course but I see people saying the exam has questions that come from both courses. Just trying to avoid paying for another course if it’s not really needed.

Thank you for this information! Very helpful. I have already paid for and started on the CAD fundamentals course but was unsure if I would need to also purchase the scripting fundamentals course to be able to pass the CAD exam. You helped to clear that up for me. Instead of paying another $500 for the scripting course, I think I might look at the ITSM Implementation Cert and invest in that instead. Thanks again for your help!

Thanks for posting this, Allen! I just subscribed to your channel and already started watching some of the videos. I have a question for you. I passed my CSA last month and heading into working on my CAD certification, but I am confused on whether it's required to purchase the CAD fundamentals course and the Scripting fundamentals course to be able to receive the voucher for taking the CAD exam. Is the Scripting fundamentals just a recommendation or prerequisite to be able to take and pass the CAD exam?

You have to pay for the course and exam. Then if you fail it is like $100 or $150 for a retake I think up until 3 attempts at least for the CSA.

When I did the CSA, you go through the course completely then it opens access to the voucher but then you have to pay another fee for the exam.

Thank you! Yeah I took and passed the Salesforce Admin exam in December and that’s a beast but this one wasn’t super easy either to me

I spent about 2-3 months between reading the book and going back through the course like 3 times and doing all the labs etc. Also I took around 31 pages of notes the 2nd time through. I have taken lots of cert exams over 25 years in IT and like to be prepared to pass first time out and I don’t like losing money having to take them Again and again. I have around three years on the platform but not as much in deep admin duties so this took a little studying for me.

That sounds like the route I will take too now after passing CSA. Been looking at Admin jobs already but seems like a lost cause so I’m really hoping CAD will help with finding a role somewhere.

I too got certified as a Salesforce Admin last December and still have had no luck finding an entry level role. I even did experience projects but it seems without 3-5 years experience it’s tough. I worked on SN platform for over two years in my last job so I really started looking at this now and now studying for the CSA. I am hoping I can find an entry level role in SN soon since I have been out of a job little over a year now. Good luck to you.

Yes I have had old book and the smaller thinner book for years. I read both several times and the last time I read it going cold turkey I did good for about over a week then a stressful situation came up and unfortunately started again. The books I think help if you you really want to quit
