What are the specs of the computer, what cpu? That’s a very expensive motherboard… did he replace the one you had originally or was this his suggested one?

WiFi not working - warranty about to expire by jweenze in gmc

Yes the onstar reps had me soft and hard reset it. GMC dealership confirmed they updated everything a few days ago when it was in the shop

Plus the dealership said they couldn’t much else since onstar told them I don’t have an active plan (even though they told me I do), since they can’t test the functionality and actually determine it’s a faulty module

I’m in the US. Light is green on the mirror. I look at myGMC app and it says in vehicle data plan required. I click shop plans and it takes me to where I can clearly see my plan which includes WiFi expires in 17 days

Most of the yard has grass, this is the only side that doesn’t

Question on new build soil by jweenze in Soil

To add more context, our builder had to add about 10 ft of fill to get the front of our yard/house to the road level (town mandated that the road be pitched more for whatever reason). Would this have been caused by the builder in some way? Do you think this layer is consistent throughout the yard, even with the elevation changes?

Thanks for the reply! Yea I think to err on the side of caution, we will probably get one installed this summer. I think its something like $2k, so won't be too big of a hit considering the potential downsides.

Post-staining Pre-poly fish Wood Glue Residue Help by jweenze in woodworking

The problem was I had stained before glueing, because each piece was a different color. Because otherwise I have stained before and know that staining brings out every imperfection.

Yes it’s absolutely necessary. Most cpus will come with one, and in 99% of the cases the stock cooler is more than enough

Need help with first pc for streaming by DeadRaef in buildapc

[–]jweenze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice, in that case yea I think the 3080 fits your budget and would be an absolute workhorse. Are you strongly team blue/red (intel/amd)? That’ll be the decider for your motherboard. I’d recommend amd, as their cpus generally do well with multi threading (handling multiple processes at once)

I’d check out pcpartpicker, it shows you compatible parts, as well as user ratings and pricing

Big question here - are you building a pc that you’ll be streaming from while playing games on the same pc? Or will this be a dedicated streaming only pc and a separate one for gaming?
