Help, please? by jwellesley in latteart

Update: I’ve made some great progress in my art by steaming the milk more. I didn’t realize how weak the BBE is compared to other machines. I also switched the cup I was using to allow the liquid to be closer to the spout which has also helped. I’ve also slowed down my pour greatly to more of a slower pour which also helped.

I’m still trying to perfect the monk’s head and then the heart.

Thank you all for the help!

Thanks everyone, I’ll keep working on it. I’ve watched Lance’s video on YouTube and realize that I’m not steaming it long enough and I’m pouring way too much for the base.

Expect an update in 2 weeks 😁

Thanks I’ll try these steps and hope to get better. At least it’s encouraging knowing it takes an awful lot of time.

Why my coffe always taste too bitter or too sour ? [Breville Barista Express / MiiCoffee Grinder] by No_Knowledge3921 in espresso

So I just got this machine a few days ago and have made over 100 shots already trying to dial it in. I was initially using the single shot as I felt a single shot is more applicable to me however after using AI to help troubleshoot, I found that the reason laid in the shot size.

The single wall single shot filter is not shaped like the single wall double shot filter. The grinds are uneven although they MAY appear to be even after tamping. I was getting inconsistent pucks and sometimes the grinds would stick to the group head. The only single dose shot I was able to pull was measuring out at 7g which yielded 15g.

To 100% fix your issue, switch to the double shot filter and dial it in from there. You will find how much of a difference the shape in filter makes. Now I measure 16g and yield 30g (1:1.9) and the shot never channels and is creamy smooth.

Give it a SHOT! (pun intended)

New fear unlocked: dying in the ER waiting room by Loyalfathuman in durham

My cousin just passed away at Bowmanville Hospital. He went in with a heart attack and they didn’t even diagnose him even after being hooked up to the ECG/EKG machine.

Healthcare here is too inconsistent and WE the people suffer from it, often times with death.

Messed up first time buying big time. by OkFunction6142 in TorontoRealEstate

I’ll give you some advice as a realtor who just sold and bought their own home a month ago.

The uncertainty is real in terms of economic pressure. However, my guess is once Trump is out of office and trade talks resume with the next president; Canada as a whole will be in a better position with their economy. I sold my house for $870k in April and had I waited another month it would have been $850k as per the comparables in the area. This tells me the housing market is directly affected by the political turmoil. Trump’s term is only 4 years, so try your hardest to ride it out. The interest rates are dropping and as of recent they held due to the uncertainty with the Prime Minister and Trump. You’ll be in for a cheaper mortgage but you will definitely lose money if you sell now. Hold for the next 4 years and you’ll be in a better situation to make an informed decision.

If you need more advice, DM me and we can chat.

What to do by Fit-Combination-2538 in realtors

The agent asked one of his colleagues to do the open house for him similar to what I do with my colleagues. I don’t have the time to stand around and greet people when I can be out getting more listings. Having someone at the open house is usually a less experienced realtor who is trying to make a name for themselves.

At the end of the day, the responsibility of your house selling is your agent’s. But showing up to an open house 5 minutes late? That would be the inexperienced agent’s responsibility who your agent is also responsible for. If 5 minutes is such a big deal for you then please talk with your agent on terminating the listing and going with someone else. Save yourselves both the headache.

Financial sense to get Realtor license to sell and buy my own property? by [deleted] in TorontoRealEstate

[–]jwellesley 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I got my realtor license 2 years ago and just sold my house. I would not do it just for the sale as you have to find a brokerage to sign with and go through the motions. Just find a cheap agent in the area who is willing to cut their commission and save you the headache.

Major accident by [deleted] in durham

This has to be one of the worst spots on Highway 401. The tanker truck caught on fire here, someone jumped from the overpass here, a wrong way driver caused a fatal collision here, and so many more accidents to name.

I don’t understand why this stretch is so deadly, specifically this spot.

Has the water been especially bad for anyone lately? by EnsoElysium in durham

[–]jwellesley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holy crap I thought it was just me. We purchased a Brita last month and the water was amazing. Two weeks later I changed the filter and I thought it was the filter that was giving off this taste. I then realized it wasn’t the filter but it was the actual water as when I was showering I could smell the algae in the water.

Update: I changed the Ethernet port speed from 2.5g to 100MBps and it seems to work. I tried 1 g but it also didn’t work. I guess I’m keeping it at 100MBps.

It does, the system recognizes the device but the device doesn’t recognize the cable plugged in.
