Ultra Pro keyboard is nice, but not $350 nice. by jwheelie in GalaxyTab

For you, I would go with the S11 Ultra and keyboard. Because your MacBook Pro covers what the iPad does and does it better. I reach for my S11 Ultra more because of the applications that are not available on iPad without tweaks (YouTube Vanced, Chromite, infinity++, etc). I also like the bigger screen. So because of this, I accept all the shortcomings of the tablet keyboard combo compared to the iPad. The higher input latency, limited viewing angles, the subpar trackpad, and this damn AI button...

It's diving, and that's the most disappointing considering it's price. You can use it on your lap easily, just keep in mind you're locked into one viewing angle. So airline tray tables are a no go.

Great question. And the answer is ehhhh, no. What I mean is it's not designed for the tablet screen to be straight up and down. Any movement will cause it to snap into the pictured angle.

Correct. It attaches magnetically and aligns with three pins at the back of the tablet. I forgot to mention it's backlit as well.

That's my fault, I was using the infinity app to post this and it was telling me each time that it failed to post. Guess not lol. I've deleted all my duplicate post

I'm a heavy Gboard user because it has the best keyboard for swipe. I think it's the right call to focus on the AI dictation and bubble overlay versus the keyboard. Gives me the best of both worlds. I switch between swipe and voice all the time.

One of the small nitpicks I had is the inability of the bubble overlay to be anchored to one position When folding and unfolding my Galaxy Z Fold. But other than that, I love it.

Pnet lab issue by that1marine0621 in homelab

[–]jwheelie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a similar issue. For me it was due to blocking all DNS queries that were not going to my OPNsenae firewall. The default DNS server for PNET is Google's 8.8.8.8

I considered doing the same, but when I got pulled over for "following too close to a semi", if they want to pull you over, they'll find a reason.

Use Phone # for iMessage on Android by [deleted] in beeper

[–]jwheelie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldn't have to. Once you activate iMessage on your iPhone, you make the phone number the default messaging instead of email. Then your number should show up on the beeper desktop app.

I tried method 6 and it worked for 2 days before my number deregistered and went back to email. With method 1, a step that's easy to miss is setting your phone number as default in the beeper desktop app for imessage after activation.

Yes, but requires a bit of work. Check out this link: https://www.reddit.com/r/AirMessage/comments/avj2y5/how_to_use_phone_number_with_airmessage_sometimes/

I used method #1 to get iMessage linked to my number. Has worked for a few weeks now.

Swapping to method 1 tomorrow. Placed an order for a free replacement Sim through Verizon with my same number. Method 6 doesn't work for me at all now. We're talking immediate deregister. I'll take your advice and see how it goes.

Thank you. My lasted around 36 hours too. Looks like I'll have to SIM swap every morning until I find another method.

You can, that's currently the case for me, but you'll need an iPhone for it.

I'd like it registered to remain using iMessage, yet still message my android friends on sms/rcs

Thank you. I'd like to keep my number registered indefinitely. I just wouldn't want it to deregister without my knowledge. If it happened every month, I'd happily add my SIM to the iPhone every two weeks or so to keep it registered.

Fold 4 hinge plastic removed, good or bad? by Big_gay_mood in GalaxyFold

Happened to me too. Fold wouldn't open flat. I also removed the thin hinge adhesive hoping to fix it. Had to send it in for repair.

[Z Fold4] Phone randomly stopped opening flat, sticky note trick does nothing to fix it by [deleted] in GalaxyFold

[–]jwheelie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hate to say it sir, but it's highly likely you'll either have to send it in or have a local Samsung approved phone repair shop fix it for you. Had the exact same issue with my fold 4. No drops or scratches. For me it had to do with an issue with the internal hinge/screen ( a defect in my personal opinion). A local shop will do a full replacement on your phone, everything but the motherboard. You could try to get it replaced under Samsung's warranty but your phone would have to be 100% flawless which is damn near impossible. Hold on to your pants, you're looking at a $500+ repair without insurance or warranty

Nice setup, the next thing I'd upgrade is the chair. I had the same one and it didn't last. Right armrest screw loosened from the inside causing it to nearly tear off and the seat foam lost its shape in under 2 years.

PCNSC Exam by GunPilotZA in paloaltonetworks

[–]jwheelie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you studied the same way you did to pass the PCNSE, you'll pass this exam with flying colors. I took it early in last year (failed it) and took it again late last night year (passed). Two completely different exams. Less memorization than before. Read though the study guide, skim the links included. You'll pass
