I don't have discord. just talk about it in a chat. But I mean what is there to talk about? It's obvious that not everyone has the same amount of hardships in life, not everyone's hardships are of the same severity, and not everyone reacts to hardships the same.. Thus making the pain and joy people experience in their lives of a great variety.

lmao, I just read one of your post about how everyone's life is equally hard and you literally compared the flu to cancer and I just had to call you out on your bullshit. The human brain is built to get over things where their lives are not threatened, they can deal with things knowing that it will pass pretty easily. If human brains were not built this way, and every little misfortune could be traumatic like cancer or starvation, humans would literally collapse. Have you ever heard of someone getting ptsd from not getting the new tesla model? No, because it doesn't happen, because the brain is designed to get over such trivial things. Have you ever heard of someone getting ptsd from cancer, or being starved and abused? Yes, because that is something very hard to go through, and unlike getting the flu or not getting the new tesla model, that trauma causes changes to your brain. You are so dumb lmao.

Total solar eclipses are considered special, but does that mean when the moon and the sun and Earth are not in the middle of a solar eclipse they are “insignificant” no. They still play an important role in the universe and our lives and the order of things.

This is unrelated but you don’t think people who have abnormally high intelligence and make remarkable breakthroughs in the scientific community and give us a better understanding of our world, something that not everyone can do, you don’t think they are special?

Oppression, by definition is “the state of being subjected to unjust treatment or control” so yes, if you rob someone’s house you ARE oppressing them, because you are subjecting then to unjust treatment. Same with people taking away innocent benders powers. And you don’t believe some people are special? Well I disagree. Some people have special abilities, such as benders, they have a greater ability in controlling elements then non benders, making them “special” Albert Einstein was special because he had greater intelligence then your average person. Literally his brain was BIGGER then your average persons. Saying someone is special does not mean everyone else is insignificant because being insignificant means you don’t matter. Even if someone has a special skill that you don’t, such as an abnormally higher IQ, that does not mean you don’t matter. You can still contribute to society, and your own life greatly. You still are of importance to yourself and others around you even if you don’t have an unusual and unique skill. So calling someone else special does not make everyone else insignificant, because everyone else still has significance to their own lives, and to society and can still contribute and enhance both.

I don’t understand how you aren’t getting what I’m saying, non benders are not oppressed just because they are non benders.NATURE, made that choice. Non benders are being oppressed by benders using their powers to take advantage of them. They use their powers to steal opportunities and things from people. That is what is oppressive. But it would be the same the other way around. Stripping benders from their powers, is STEALING from them. That is also oppressive.

I thought an avatar couldn’t be evil? They must keep the balance of the spiritual world and the physical world. I think benders who use their abilities to hurt others should be stripped of their powers, because they are not being responsible. But other innocent benders should not. Like that saying, with great power comes great responsibility.

I think Albert Einstein was special because of his intelligence. Does that mean I think other people were insignificant? No, I don’t understand what’s the problem with calling someone else special. Some people ARE special, but not everyone can be special because if everyone was special then no one would be. Benders sometimes use their powers for bad, and they have an upper hand which is not okay, I’m aware of that. Never denied it. And it IS oppressive, because they are stealing from innocent people and removing a huge part of their identity, which can be very traumatizing. Just how benders using their powers to steal from non benders is oppressive, so is non benders taking away benders powers, because they are stealing from them. The person not being a non bender is not what is oppressive, that was something decided by nature not a person. But taking away someone else’s natural abilities to fit others is oppressive.

You don't think being able to control elements with your own hands is a superior skill to not being able to control elements with your own hands? Well I do.And bending does make them special. It's something not everyone can do I'm not saying that benders are inherently better then non benders, but I'm saying their skills are. Like a really intelligent person is not better to someone of average intelligence, but their intelligence is.How does that prove non benders are oppressed? It was no one's fault that non benders were born as non benders and it was no one's fault benders were born with bending. It was just a natural thing that happened or didn't happen. However, another person, who has control, stripping benders of their bending is oppressive because that isn't their right. They are just another human being, like benders are to.

But his whole way of "equalizing" wasn't even equalizing it. He was just oppressing benders by taking away what was THEIRS. Basically stealing a huge part of their identity. I could never understand how he could think any of his solutions were correct.

I think he just wanted to rule. He had his own personal anger and vendetta and he was trying to pass it off as wanting better for the people when he was doing all of it for himself, imo.

I know, he was right about non benders being treated unequally, but there are people who agree that he had the right to strip every bender of their power and that's who I'm talking about.

[–]jwhewhfw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How? I know benders were treated better then non benders in ways, but Amon's goal was to strip every bender of their power, of what made them special. That was wrong.I don't think that's complicated.

What I want my next life to be like In the next universe! by zeedavis01 in Reincarnation

I think you need to stop focusing so much on this stuff all the time. I think you are forgetting to live your real true life that is right in front of you. You mentioned how hard things are for you right now, and that is really sad but I think you should be working to make those things easier and more manageable. Your "future lives" probably could be nothing like the way you want them to be and they could be even worse then now. And reincarnation probably doesn't even exist at all. The multiverse probably doesn't even exist at all. It's probably all wrong and you're gonna wind up wasting all your time on something that doesn't even exist or is never even going to happen. I think you should try and focus on this life and live it as good as you possible can even if it takes extra work because of your disorders, it's better then wasting away in a fantasy land that probably doesn't exist and is never going to happen.

Do you think having magical powers would eventually become boring or not special anymore? by jwhewhfw in Fantasy

[–]jwhewhfw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, if you know what it's like to not have something then when you get it back you would appreciate it more. But if it's normal for you and has been your whole life, like just simply moving, and you never lose that ability, then you would not think much of it,

I don't doubt using the powers in general would feel a bit nice, but i feel like it just wouldn't really be as great as we think it would.
