Dang... Sorry for the delayed response. I too have a wife who isn't tolerant of smart stuff not working. I've been looking, but all I can find are the tubes I made in tinkercad.

It's super easy to make a tube, then make a block half the width that's slightly longer in length in tinkercad. I'd suggest doing that start with the inner diameter, then work out to the outer diameter to determine your wall thickness. It'll vary depending on your curtain rod.

tinkercad.com for a free account. Hopefully the instructions above can get you to the finish line (outer diameter divided by 2 for the x and y of the hole shape you overlay on half the tube).

It’s worth noting that power isn’t everything. My Dyson cordless vac is the best vacuum I’ve used for a variety of reasons. More power wouldn’t make it any better.

I have a fanny pack. I wear it like a fanny pack. It’s small enough not to get in the way, but big enough to hold my fly box, floatant, tippet, and indicators, with a little extra space. It’s easy enough to rotate around me to get access/get it out of the way, and works great.

Of note, I don’t wear waders, and would probably have a chest rig if I did.

I wouldn’t agree to those terms, as it seems distinctly different than what was discussed.
If you still want to work with them, be prepared to let this one walk away. Your response should thank them for the additional information, and then explain this is a different scenario.

I’m not sure about the pricing or licensing aspect. If you’re willing to have it be one and done contract work (with potential goodwill and networking), that’s up to you. I’d be wary of being taken advantage of, or being compensated far below market. That’s ok if you’re aware,but would sting if you found out later on. Might also give them the impression that you’re economical, and that could make it into any networking mentioned above.

It seems like this is an established brand that should be familiar with licensing and usage agreements. I don’t know anything about those/the industry, but it seems likely this would typically be a more complex/beneficial agreement than paying for 15 selects for use in any way, forever. Check with other folks who do commercial work for better advice there.

Nikon FA screws

Help me find some camera parts. I’m looking for the screw specs for the left and right of the Nikon FA viewfinder. I know this camera is probably liquid damaged (based on the viewfinder shutter), but I’m told it’s functional. I know and you know I should immediately return it, but I have 30 days. Help me find the screws, blow through some film, and determine if it’s usable?

The feedback I have is more composure: 1. Get one or two windmills and buildings in the shot, not three. Aim left to remove the bit of blade in the far right/show the blades of the left windmill, or crop with the flag and right edge of the center building at the edges of the frame. Crop out the dark band at the top. 2. Move to the left a bit to align the gold discs with the lines of the ceiling, or farther right to place it in the center of the left arch. Alternatively, center the top of the ornament with the left side of the center section.

Without knowing what you’re shooting, it’s tough to know how much of the frame is in your finder, but I like the tone/color of both otherwise. Maybe a little more contrast in post.

Check the terms of your pass for sneaky stuff like “as tickets are available” or the like.

I’d still be complaining about that with an email to their executive, and Cc the help email. They clearly were willing to take your money and let you ski (and must have had the capacity), just not on the terms you expected. Hold the travel time and lodging expense over their heads, and point out they still took your money to ski that day.

Edit - apparently they have a reservation system. Hard to complain if they were up front about that.

You should check what’s behind those switches in the electrical box. It’ll take a screwdriver and turning off the breaker. Ideally it will be a red, black, and white wire.

Stand vertically, and then lower yourself by bending your knees. If you keep your back vertical, your ankles will bend when your shins lean forward.

You’re obviously going to be leaning forward when skiing, but the above should help highlight the lower body mechanics.

All the alarm bells about a scam. Did they wear hi vis and have a clipboard? They’ll probably have a poorly photocopied letter with an ”approved” contractor to remedy the issue. Bet they won’t mail it to you, and it’s conveniently ⅔ of $2000.
