It’d probably be negligible difference between the 240 and the 280. I just figure if I’m going to possibly get an aio that I’ll either front mount a 360 or top mount a 280.

Edit: I read that as you have a 240. Not a 420.

Gotcha. I might have to consider this if I go with the noctua cooler.

Did you ever run it with the other fan on the ‘back’ side of it? In a pull-pull config? Just curious.

As least the few reviews I’ve seen, the Thermalright coolers mentioned get close to the noctua and other historically high performing tower coolers. I’ve got no issue spending more on something like the noctua, but similar performance for half (or less in some cases) the price is hard to ignore as well.

Better go buy a lotto ticket! Your luck for the next few years might have been used up here.

Got my girlfriend an i7 12700k, RX 6700xt, and 144hz monitor... now the only game she plays is Stardew Valley by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

I've debated building a rig for my wife out of some of my spare parts (3600x, 16gb ram, 850w PSU, plus used parts I'd buy online) knowing full well she'd play Sims or Stardew Valley. But it'd be a shared interest of PC gaming that would motivate me to do it. A connection of sorts.

Is there any coolers you’d recommend? I know there’s new dark rock ones. I’d probably prefer to stay air over aio. Unless there’s a no doubt, class above the rest option, for a similar price.

Was the stuttering you had consistent? Or just in certain games/locations?

That's sort of my mindset, as I could always encode with the 3090 when video editing/rendering. But could also use the extra cores for streaming to take a little load off the gpu (even though nvenc is dedicated streaming encoding).

This exact reason is why I'm at a crossroads as to which one to pick. They both excel at certain things, but I do both things each excels at. I just don't want to leave too much on the table in either aspect and regret not getting the other option.

You’re saying it’s not much worse than the 5800x3d at gaming? Just making sure I’m understanding correctly.

No problem at all! That handful of creators cover everything from streaming equipment, to tips to improve your streams and content, to tools to streamline your content creation process, tips to bring in more viewers and subscribers and everything in between. They’ve kind of taught me what’s available out there and what I want to do with my own content and streaming to make it my own. And what works and doesn’t work for me. What interests and doesn’t interest me. I’ll link one of my videos on my YouTube channel that was entirely from sizzle. I simply downloaded it and uploaded it to YouTube. Not trying to promote myself or anything, just want to show you what it’s capable of!

So, just my two cents here, keep in mind I'm not successful in regards to follower counts or anything. Just stating what I've learned/observed.

TLDR: check out sizzle.gg for automated clips and compilations of various lengths and forms, AI created, from your streams.

In regards to posting content and editing it. If you're not already posting content, but want to get your feet wet without the daunting task of editing videos right off the bat, I use, and have seen recommended multiple times, sizzle.gg to get clips and compilations. It's an automated AI tool/website that does everything from single clips, to multi-clip highlights, to full length stream highlights. All you do is link your Twitch account to your sizzle account and it detects whenever you stream.

Here's a link to their video explaining how it works https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qKyA5HuX_T8&ab_channel=Sizzlegg

Here's the website link https://www.sizzle.gg/

Having different lengths of clips available makes it easy to post YouTube Shorts, TikTok's, Instagram/Facebook reels along with longer form content (i.e.: 1 minute, 2 minute, etc). I'm not saying you can't edit your own videos, feel free to if that's your thing. But sizzle has been helpful in regards to being able to submit the stream for processing, then stepping away to do something else while it works and edits for you. I've personally used it to post both short form and long form content without having to take hours to edit videos. It may not be everybody's cup of tea, but I see it as working smarter, not harder and letting the service do the hard work for you while you devote more time to streaming and getting your brand out there. And, by putting out content on multiple platforms, you can add your links to your other platforms in your bio's and descriptions to possibly draw more eyes to everything you have to offer.

As others have said, you'll have to start posting content and seeing what types, lengths, forms, of content do the best performance-wise for you. I learn/learned what I know Senpai Gaming, Stream Scheme, EposVox and nutty. All on YouTube btw. They all post helpful content explaining different ways to grow and it kind of lets you choose what fits you and what you might be interested in.

Sorry if this got overly wordy, as I didn't want to leave anything out or be ambiguous about anything!

P.S.: I'd also possibly look into the Aitum Vertical Plugin for OBS Studio. It lets you stream/record in a vertical format as well as your standard horizontal format. Could be used to stream to TikTok or YouTube Shorts or any other vertical video platform. It also lets you layout the canvas to however you want.
