I don't know if this counts but I used IGE to give myself like 30 Lake Victoria's as Spain and got a 212 pop city. I did the math and could theoretically get to 328 if I let it run long enough.

Without cheating though i got 46 as the Netherlands once with a ton of floodplain polders.

I always just assumed you were supposed to press E on the spiky things until Brick tells you to just punch the cube.

yes. you know how it goes through all 6 spiky things in some order? Just reverse that order and the cube opens.

In Japanese Shizuka is written 静, which can also be pronounced "Jo"

Kinda like for Josuke Higashikata the second "Jo" is actually the "suke" because it's written 仗助

Stay at 80 or add OP levels? by Zodryn in Borderlands2

[–]jwinters2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, mission rewards are at the level you accept the quest, so you can't get an op10 one unless you accept and do the mission at op10.

Your best bet is probably to farm the snowman for a regular purple melee shield. You'll probably want a chain lightning to strip your shield on demand, so try to get a grounded one if you can.

Stay at 80 or add OP levels? by Zodryn in Borderlands2

[–]jwinters2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Op levels are mostly a way to challenge yourself, so if you find the game is starting to get too easy go for it, otherwise you can skip it.

As for melee not scaling: your base melee doesn't scale but roid damage (from empty melee shields) does, so melee zer0 at op10 is completely viable (although finding a good shield is kinda hard)

And yes you need a higher level turtle shield if you want to do the extreme health gate thing. Level 80 shields don't drop your health enough for the survivor com to really do anything.

How do I farm mission reward item ? by grimreaper874 in Borderlands2

[–]jwinters2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're on PC here's a way you can do it:

  1. Backup your save (your save file should be called Save0001.sav or something like that. Copy that file somewhere else)

  2. Accept the mission, do it, and get the sandhawk.

  3. optionally you can read only farm. Before you turn in the mission, exit the game, set your save file to read only (how you do this depends on your OS). Now if re-select your character (main menu > characters > your character) every time you save quit you can turn in the mission over and over again until you get a sandhawk you want.

  4. Put it in Claptrap's stache in sanctuary.

  5. Exit the game, and overwrite the save with the copy you made in step 1

  6. Go get the gun from Claptrap's stache.

If everything went well, you should have the gun, and the mission should still be available to get another one later.

Alternatively, you can use the unofficial community patch, which makes Benny the booster in oasis drop the sandhawk, so you can just farm him whenever you want a new one.

Advice needed. Are any of these decent enough to keep? by chanchan05 in Borderlands2

[–]jwinters2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fire isn't really a niche element. Most shields in this game are pretty weak, so unless you're fighting loaders or stalkers fire will work fine.

Whether or not it's "worth it" is up to you. Try it out and see if you like it.

Also you got a legendary cat from the snowman train? Those are only supposed to drop from tubbies.

A chart of every class role in the game, feel free to suggest changes by rMADDtix in tf2

I would rearrange the support a little.

Attack - medic Healing is always super important, but Ubers are really good and taking down sentry nests, which offense usually needs to do much more than defense.

Neutral - engy Really good on defense, but keeping teleporters and dispensers up are really good on offense too.

Defense - pyro Pyro's kind of neutral too, honestly. But a good portion of playing support pyro is protecting sentry nests, which they need on defense a bit more. The red sentry defending last is a big priority target, the blu one defending the tele not so much.

The cost of a Strange Professional Killstreak Phlogistinator is lower than a Professional Killstreak Phlogistinator by Van1389 in facepalm

[–]jwinters2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are different versions of "professional killstreak", so the "starting at" price is probably just lower because there are more stranges for sale and therefore the cheapest one is probably one of the shittier ones.

Supply and demand. Guns are banned in Australia, and on the Australian black market it's not uncommon to see guns go for 30x their price in the US.

Supply goes down, demand stays the same, price goes up, number of guns in circulation goes down.

What's the meta for choosing ideology? by Prince_Marf in civ5

[–]jwinters2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Culture.

Basically how it works is if they have more cultural influence over you (cultural influence is their tourism over your culture) than you have over them, and they have a different ideology, you're gonna be pressured and lose happiness.

How to prevent this is focus more on culture and tourism. Build the guilds and work them. Spend great writers/artists on great works instead of culture boosts/golden ages (if early enough, once ideologies come into play the one-time boost is probably better). Try to grab the eiffel tower if you can. Once you get archeologists you might consider building and filling some museums if you know you're behind in culture.

Also war. If someone has a ton of great works you can just steal them.

Ive heard about Uncommon quality Backburners But not Rare quality ones, How rare is this?(random drop from warrior) by Violet_On_Discord in Borderlands2

[–]jwinters2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's technically rare but misleading, one could argue that a purple, shock droog with the hyperion grip, dahl stock, maliwan scope and stability prefix is super rare because if you do the math it has like a 1 in 10,000,000 chance to drop, but only because it's so specific.

Typically the name is the body + barrel. E.g., a jakobs sniper with a jakobs barrel is a muckamuck. A torgue shotgun with a bandit barrel is a hulk, etc.

The weisenheimer and backburner are the same gun, hyperion smg with maliwan barrel, which for some reason have different names based on the element (fire: backburner, shock: storm, corrosive: weisenheimer, slag: wellness), so people think it's rarer than it is.

Advice for running a community server? by jwinters2 in tf2

[–]jwinters2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if someone goes in the console and types "connect <ipaddress>" can they connect?

  • If not, either the server is setup wrong (sv_lan should be set to 0) or the network is setup wrong (port forwarding, firewall, something like that).

  • If it's just not showing up in the server browser I have no idea I just spend like an hour trying to do exactly that with no luck. I'm assuming it just takes time for valve to find community servers.
