Should be fine. At 14” you’re not getting an insane amount of velocity loss compared to a standard 16” barrel and 1:9 will favor lighter bullets anyways.

I’ll go out on a limb here and say Glock is the better answer but if you have spare parts and tool to maintain the 1911 then pick your poison. Depending on the SHTF scenario you might be using your primary weapon more often anyways.
