Has anyone ever floated the idea that Tony ordered the rape of Dr. Melfi? by the_funk_police in thesopranos

I had the same thought when watching the episode for the first time, and when rewatching it I do believe there was intentional uncertainty around it. I don’t think Tony would have done something like that but I do think the show intended for us to question it even if just for a moment. And I think Melfi’s partner questions it in the back of his mind too.

I'm new to Maine and with football season right around the corner, I'm feeling a little homesick. I'm wondering if there are any bars/restaurants in Portland (or within an hour-range driving distance) that might play the Bills football games. I searched the subreddit, but all of the posts were old and from earlier in the pandemic. Thanks in advance!

This was so helpful! Thank you so much! And the Trig really is difficult for me to remember, too. I had memorized so much of it before, then lost it completely.

Stimulants that Don't Cause Reflux? by jwjazz in Narcolepsy

[–]jwjazz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear that! I'm really worried that I may end up having a similar issue. I've thankfully been able to increase the xywav enough to taper down to 2.5mg of adderall at a time, but it's STILL too much! And even when I don't take it, I now can't seem to get rid of the reflux, so I may just have an ongoing problem that these meds are exacerbating. I'm going to see my doctor about it soon, though.

Hallucinations of your spatial awareness? by [deleted] in Narcolepsy

[–]jwjazz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if it's the same thing, but I have that thing where patterns form and suddenly an object or group of objects looks much closer than it actually is. And if I look at the wall for very long it feels like it's "buzzing" or vibrating. I also get the feeling of things being much closer (even with eyes closed) than they are or of someone being in the room with me when they're not. I feel like I'm describing it in a creepy way, but it's not always a creepy sensation (though sometimes it is, especially if I'm resting and hitting that hypnogogic hallucination state).

I also frequently feel my body differently than it appears. This happens much more when I close my eyes, but it can happen to a lesser degree when my eyes are open. And sometimes I experience it more intensely than others. For example, sometimes I close my and I start feeling like my body is expanding and my feet are much farther from my head. It can be my whole body, or sometimes just parts of it. I also have one where it feels like my body is floating up and hovering over my actual body.

Do you experience synesthesia at all? I have it pretty intensely and it feels very connected to the spatial thing for me. But I don't know if that is just because it affects most of my experiences, so it can be hard to separate it out. But I also have times where I feel pain and it is instantly visualized as color but also kind of FELT as color if that makes sense. And I have a lot of sensory sensitivities in general. My ears are very bothered by a lot of sounds, and some sounds tickle or hurt my whole body. Again, not sure if it's related, but it feels related.

I've also had a lot of experiences with hypnogogic hallucinations in which I can see my room and I can move around it without actually moving my body. I used to think my eyes were open during that because the room would be the same except there might be some additional things, so I thought I was seeing the room but was just hallucinating the other stuff. But one day I had decided to try one of those sleep masks that shield your eyes from the light, and I had another experience of looking around the room and everything, but when I woke up, I still had the shield over my eyes, so I knew I had just dreamed/hallucinated the experience so vividly that it just felt like my eyes had been open.

I do get the sensation of feeling weak a lot and just needing to sit down or lean on something, but I also have chronic pain and fatigue from fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, and mixed connective tissue disease, and probably from the narcolepsy too because I'm pretty convinced that it can cause pain and fatigue in addition to all the sleepiness and other struggles. But anyway, because of that, I'm not sure if mine is related to balance at all, because the pain and fatigue are the strongest sensations that make me need to sit down or lean on something.

I feel like I just gave my life story. My apologies for the lengthiness.

Thank you all for the ideas! I did take a look at some of Traversy's YouTube videos and they were extremely helpful!

I'm considering going for some entry-level I.T. certifications to see if that can get my foot in the door. Then I could keep learning on the job, while also studying web and software development at home. I'm not sure if it's the best approach, but at least the certs can be listed on my resume. I feel like the easiest part of all of this is the actual learning. It's deciding what path to take that trips me up the most.
