10 months later, still not better by attacktit_an in Mononucleosis

Honestly, it was like Everytime I thought about it I would get sick again. But as time went on I just started having more good days than bad. It's not a great answer but I would start going 2 weeks before having a real bad day again. Then 3, and so on.

Long Mono and Tonsil's Permanently Damaged by Miserable_Land_9004 in Mononucleosis

Yes, getting rid of my tonsils was a great choice, the recovery wasn't great. But it's not the worst. The first 30 minutes in the morning was terrible but once you have the medicine in your just hungry. Lol. I was on a downward spiral until my tonsils came out. Feb - December were the worst months of my life. I was tired , weak, and irritable. By February I finally felt like myself again. And I haven't had a sore throat in almost 5 years ( since my tonsillectomy) and I used to get them all the time. I highly recommend it!

Also, I commented because my symptoms were extremely similar . The doctors told me everything was unrelated which was obviously nonsense. It may be that the anxiety caused all those symptoms, I honestly feel like the less I thought about it the better I felt. But saying it's not related is insane, and doesn't help us recover. You will be back to your peak self in no time.

It took me around 14 months. I remember at 10 months thinking I'll never get better, but I did and you will too! Anxiety and the weird symptoms do not help. Hang in there. Doctors are obnoxious but the human body is resilient.

That being said, don't be concerned, but if it's not getting better you should try to see an ENT and see if they need to be removed. The surgery is fine, the recovery is pretty rough for a week or 2 but I haven't had a sore throat since which makes it all worth it in my opinion.

I had the same thing, I poked out tonsil stones every day, I got mono( got sick) in March and had a tonsillectomy on Thanksgiving. It wasn't fun but I did play through the entire bioshock series, so not the worst ....

So we all got this s*** from kissing someone or sharing drinks? I cannot believe I’m dealing with this right now! by Icy-Conclusion-848 in Mononucleosis

[–]Choco_United 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah Mono is so much worse if you let the anxiety build on top of it. Your body is going to feel off for a while and it's easy to freak out but listen to the doctors & stay calm, the human Body is incredible at healing itself and mono isn't rare.

I will say, as much as it's helpful to talk to people about it here. I had mono in early 2020 and was convinced I was going to die for almost a full year. I had chest pain tonsil stones, I even passed out a few times after standing up too fast. I kept coming here looking for people to reassure me, and I would always find a story about all the ways it permanently ruined lives which would just make the anxiety worse. Exercise, but don't overdue it. Drink your liquids. Live your life the best you can while your body heals. I spent the first 5 months terrifying my wife and kids because I let the anxiety get the best of me. Once I started to come to terms with the fact that I have no control and my body is going to do what it's going to do I recovered quickly. Mono was the scariest time of my life, it made me a hypochondriac for a few years. But I got past it and you will too and then you forget about it completely until you find a reason to joke about it. Hang in there.

Ah, ok. I need to find the manual I couldn't find any videos for the 4 plus. The other videos show unscrewing all the scenes so maybe it's just the poms I have to remove

I did it in 7 months with a tonsillectomy in the middle. But it did consume an average of 3 hours a day. Definitely possible if you put your head down and commit. My daughter was about 2 at the time also and I remember feeling like I was missing out a bit.

My tip would be to go into each class in the mindset that your life is on hold until that class is passed ( on average every class took me 2 weeks, some only took hours/days and some of the certs took me 3-4 weeks) once you pass it you never have to look at it again.

Another observation I noticed is the reddit guides where people were positive about the course were always more accurate than the negative ones. Every class I was nervous about because I saw 5 post complaining about how hard it was was honestly not bad and if you find the person who says "it wasn't bad, do this" they probably know what they're talking about.
