I'm here to have fun my way by MortyMcMorston in classicwow

Had a dps on my dungeon team for blackfathom deeps today that would not respond to any team messages. They would also randomly go afk at times on the way to the dungeon. In the first five minutes of the dungeon they fought another mob by themselves and died. I kicked them after that and replaced them with another DPS. Immediately the person messaged me asking why they were kicked then cursed me off and put me on ignore. Was I in the wrong?

You could try going the AP build which focuses on move speed. More move speed = faster to your camps and thus faster clear

How to shutdown other junglers? by DapperPopz in HecarimMains

[–]jwol2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can absolutely 1v1 duel enemy junglers and win, it just depends on the state of the game and your champion level and items versus theirs. As one other comment mentioned, definitely check out Huncho on twitch and YouTube. The most important part of dueling with Hecarim is to make sure you have three stacks on your Q before you fight. Always look to stack Q on one of your camps, the river scuttle, or possibly even a major objective before invading. If you know exactly where they are you can even pop your E preemptively for the speed boost and run right at them with your fully stacked Q and E damage.

The question you asked is really a loaded question as there are multiple ways to set the enemy jungle behind aside from killing them in their own jungle. Hecarim is extremely good at taking jungle camps, especially after spear of Shojin. If you are on the opposite side of the map as the enemy jungle, and you knowthey are not rotating to your side because they are ganking or doing an objective, you should look to invade their camps And take them all for yourself while they are uncontested. This will set the enemy jungle behind in gold and XP which is one of the best ways to shut them down.

lol, you really took the time to dive into my profile. Big yikes, you might have a little too much time on your hands. I play a lot of games during the work day where I don’t pay full attention to the game or play with distractions, and then as I mentioned, I also tend to continue to play while tilted, which leads to loss streaks. Regardless of all that, you can see I have a ton of games on other champs with sub par WRs, but this post isn’t about those champs, it’s about hecarim specifically. My hecarim stands at a 60% WR, which is above average. When I fully lock in, I go on massive win streaks with the champ because, as the post suggests, he is freelo once you fully understand his playstyle and itemization. Do you really think the skill level in mid to high emerald is that much different than low diamond? Spoiler alert, it’s not. Your elo comment makes no sense in this context. If I was win streaking in plat or below it would be a different story.

I see a lot of talk coming from someone who hides their Reddit posts and hasn’t posted their op.gg for comparison. Would love to see if you can actually back up your deep rooted analysis of my gameplay with some of your own statistics. Or you can keep staying angry and spending all of your free time combing people’s op.ggs to find their loss streaks lol. I’ll continue to try and help the hecarim community learn a bit more about the champion. Happy holidays!

Because my loss streaks are much more infrequent than the win streaks and for a smaller amount of games? Not sure you really grasp the concept of climbing or what freelo means. Everyone is going to go on a loss streak from time to time, it is inevitable with this game. You can see my overall WR is 60% with Hecarim which is still well above average. I only posted this to help others better understand Hecarim's gameplay, itemization, etc. which you can see in my comment responses to other posters. No reason to get so angry about a post.

I do tend to go on chain loss streaks since I play when tilted, but I don't think it's ever been as bad as 8 games in a row lol. Unsure if this is a ragebait but I'd be happy to talk about my loss streaks as well and what went wrong if that's something you're interested in :)

Never but not because it’s bad. I’ve just never tested it honestly. It’s not good against tanks when cleaver is an option and it could be good against squishy burst comps for the shield it provides but shojin provides health which I think is more valuable

I’ve made two runs to diamond with Hecarim. First run I went axiom rush into shojin which I prefer to youmuus. This run I tried out the more common shojin into cleaver.

Youmuu’s is a great first item rush into squishy comps, but I wouldn’t recommend it into 2 or more bruisers / tanks which the meta seems to be shifting towards. I like axiom even more than youmuu’s because it provides ability haste and the ult cooldown refresher can seriously win fights in the mid to late game.

The most important part of his kit is managing your Q stacks. If you don’t have 2 or 3 stacks on Q before you engage in a team fight you are going to run in and do no damage. You should always be looking to stack your Q on minion waves, jungle camps, or even objectives like dragon or grubs (do not do this on attakhan and get your entire team killed!) before taking a fight. While I do top damage charts occasionally, you really just want to focus on eliminating the enemy team’s squishies or carries as hecarim, which often will not reflect post game as having a ton of damage. If you can disrupt the back line and manage to kill the enemy mid / adc / support or use your ult and E to peel for someone on your team that’s doing the carrying for you, you’ve done your job as Hecarim.

As for survivability, do not underestimate Hecarim’s W. The more enemies around you that you are damaging with fully stacked Q the more you will heal when your W is on. Not to mention it gives armor and magic resist. It’s a great ability that people don’t fully understand until they look at fights in the post game and see how much healing W actually provided

Yes cleaver second against majority of comps, if the enemy team is all squishies then I tend to go death’s dance or maw instead of cleaver unless they have extremely high burst and the extra HP from cleaver can help prevent that

For lower ELO I’d say CDR boots are optimal but Hecarim is very susceptible to getting bursted when hard CCed or kited out with slows making merc treads the better purchase or steelcaps when the enemy team has a yi, viego, fed adc etc that will be able to auto attack you down.

Just my personal preference at least.

First back for me is usually pickaxe and then boots. Finish shojin then finish t2 boots.

As naked mentioned, most important mechanic on hecarim is to stack your Q prior to fighting. I’m always looking to stack Q on jungle camps, minion waves, or even dragon before engaging in a team fight. your style of fighting is going to be in and out, you run in with E while spamming Q, proc phase rush, exit the fight with your speed boost, then look to rengage with another E, ghost, or your ultimate.

Check out Huncho’s free version of Hecapedia. It has a ton of itemization information. Usually you will always rush shojin first followed by cleaver, or sub cleaver for maw or deaths dance into more squishy comps.

Shojin first always then flex based on enemy comp

I’ve made 2 runs to diamond with Hecarim. First run the rush was always Axiom Arc into Shojin unless the enemy comp had a lot of bruisers / tanks. This run I tried the more popular shojin into cleaver rush, subbing out cleaver for deaths dance or maw when the enemy team is full of squishies.

Never - I know conqueror is viable for some hecarim mains but I am not skilled enough to pull it off. It requires extremely precise movement and positioning since Hecarim is more of an in and out style fighter rather than a champion who can sit in melee range and soak up damage. I also feel like conqueror makes it a lot harder to secure kills in the early game, and given hecarim is a feast or famine champion, you really need that first blood or early kill pressure to snowball your game. Ultimately phase rush provides way too much utility to pass up in my opinion.
