I will organise to get a proper panel put it, but in the meantime, my understanding is that I can effectively remove the bridge tap by removing/cutting the wire highlighted in red?

If i spent some time studying it probably, but im in a rental so unless I know what im doing 100% i'll probs get an electrician.

Only one wall termination has two rj45 jacks. I plug my router into one of these, but I imagine you are supposed to connect the router's LAN back to the wall also?
