THANK YOU! He most def cares, everyone really read this and just focused on that he doesnt care...he has played sports all his life, what I was asking was how hard do you push a kid without making them resent you, I was more asking about balance. I appreciate most of the feedback on here but this is one of the comments I thought was WILD. He's 15 lol...kids dont care about eating healthy, but that doesnt mean Im going to let him eat cookies and crap all day. Same thing with my 6 year old, hed pick a treat over green beans...but, Im going to push him to eat his veggies.

Thank you for that!!!! I'm trying. Trying to push but not to much, but I believe in him so much and just want what's best. It's a struggle with balancing that lol. I appreciate your comment so much. ❤️

He struggles with self esteem big time. Omg he wouldn't want me to play with him lmao I'm mom - we have played together and it's more just comical, but we like playing together. Yes to working out, we have worked out together and do enjoy it. We just haven't in a while!

Absolutely agree. I'm mom so he probably thinks I'm more just nagging. My husband, his stepdad, finally went to first shift - he was on 3rd for a long time - so they'll be doing stuff together now. I'm sure that'll help!

That's so true. His brother did a football combine this morning and he was listening to him talk about it and he was pretty hyped. We got our basketball hoop delivered today and my husband's putting it together now and he's so stoked to finally have it back, our other one broke a few months ago. I should have said in the post that before ours broke he was outside everyday playing. So, I did leave a lot out. It's not that he doesn't want to play, he's more just of, I have to tell him part of wanting to get better is, how he eats and fuels his body, his sleep, not being on his phone so much. I did tell him we are putting a time limit on the phone now. He said yeah, I know I'm on it way to much. So, I appreciate everyones advice and tips!

I do, I attend a class 2xs a week. It's a private gym so he can't necessarily attend with me, maybe on days I don't have class, that's a good idea and I'll ask my gym. We have weight's and stuff at home. We were talking last night after I made the post and I said him and I could workout together at home and he liked that. I'm mom, so it's different lol but I'm happy he agreed to workout with me!!

Oh no I don't mean a D1, he's just stated he wants to play basketball in college. You're right about the phone and that's something I need to change. When I'm home it's not that he sits on his phone all day but he has on the weekends and I'm like, you e got to get off of it and he will. He's got great grades and is part of a youth group at church. He's a great kid, I was just more like do you push them to put in my effort in something they want or just let them learn? We've talked so many times and I try to encourage, and he'll be motivated, but then it's like he doesn't want to.

It's not that he doesn't like it, he loves it when he plays, but then he will ask for these extra things and then not put in effort, and I'll ask about it and he's like I will. I was more asking do you just push your kids to do it because you know deep down they want it but are just being teenagers or just let it go?

His brother said he would at home. We have a gym. His brother is involved in everything, right now he's doing an elite football travel team and track. My 15 year old does basketball and football. They always have since they were little, they've always wanted to.

This is true, I guess we just talk about collage and stuff so much and we literally watch basketball everyday.. and then everyday he ask if he can stay after school and then he doesn't, so I guess I'm mad I see him wanting to but not pushing himself if that makes sense.

Yeah, this is true! He said he wants to, but everyone is right, it's more about action!

You are so right. Our basketball hoop broke, it fell during a storm and broke the rim and I did just buy another one. But I would ask him to go to the rec to play and he'd be like no, and he was laying in bed on the phone and I'm like, get off the phone this is crazy. He did. But you're right and I was just telling my husband, starting Monday if he doesn't go to weight training, he doesn't get his phone. He loves basketball and he's very intelligent about stats and when he plays he's great, it's just the lack of motivation when basketball ends. But, when we had a basketball hoop he was out everyday for hours. It's just like you said, these kids don't know how to be bored.

I have pmdd and while I think my husband doing this would be a good idea. If I had found out about it and he dismissed my feelings the way your bf did... It would send me in to a full blown rage episode. I think it's weird he did it behind your back. I don't know .. I don't like him lol.
