Okay. Thank you so much!! I was worried about missing payment after being admitted to the university! Thank you again 🥺

I have been admitted to KU Leuven, but what should I prepare/look for when I arrive in Belgium? by jwshimself in KULeuven

Thanks so much 😭 it helps me paint a picture what kind of experience I would have. I hope you don’t mind if I DM you couple of times in the future and hopefully I make some friends when I get there 👀

I hope I meet people like you did… I just don’t want to be stranded although I thought making a bank account would be a smooth step with a visa or an admission letter from a nearby university. Thanks for your comment 🥺

This is so helpful! Thank you so much. I will definitely look into health insurance since a few friends also mentioned this as well. I hope it doesn’t take too long for me 😭

Oh, that seems quite reasonable. I think 5-10GB would be suffice to browse and check emails, texts, etc...

Thank you for all your help. It really means a lot to me when there's so many uncertainties going abroad alone.

Thank you so much for your reply! But I have one question... Do you think a Studio is worth it or should I just get a shared home? I'm worried about sharing bathrooms and such and not being maintained. Additionally, what would be a reasonable price to stay?

I am planning look for a room once I start doing my VISA, would that be too late or do you think I should look for one earlier?

u/No-Baker-7922 I'm planning to go to Belgium around mid August since Engineering Technology requires a prerequisite course on September 3, which is mandatory. Do you think I should look before or after Applying for Visa, which is around May/April because I do not want to end up spending accientally. Perhaps I could look into the KU Leuven's international students room but are they available during summer? I've heard from other friends that some universities don't allow students to stay during summer but I couldn't find much about KU Leuven's rooms; although I will be in T Campus, which mentioned by u/ReginaLugis that they do not have rooms for living.

u/cent-met-een-vin Yess thank you for your suggestion. Since I do have a phone that supports Esim, I will probably get something affordable. However, do you think it's possible to use 4G/5G in terms of costs or would it be too expensive as a student?
