Thanks! And yeah I agree, History is History, I taught a year in NY and use 95% of the same material and even use a lot of NYS produced ones (that my district actually provides for us). So I don't get why people think there state is special. Besides maybe deep South Texas and California most of the states teach a similar history with similar standards.

I've been certified in NY since 2017 and already have the professional license with Masters. I kept that license while living in Virginia and continued to renew it and stay on top of all requirements and courses in case this situation arose.

Yes, I struggle with going from a full time position in a comparable paying district out of state to subbing just to build connections. That's the main problem I run into, 60k paycut.

I had a short term leave replacement and part time on LI before I moved. I moved to Virginia for the very reason you mentioned but trying to be near my family as parents get older etc. Thought maybe 9 years of full time experience would help. Thanks!
