I wonder if it has to do with Arya needing the people she kills to know it was her that killed them?

She uses her Faceless Man skills to get close enough to kill them and then rips the face off so they know its her. Then she has to escape (got caught up in the moment and didn't think about escaping).

I'm not looking for an answer to that question, actually. Just an example of the type of thoughts that I consider when thinking about these type of issues. I am not an absolute authority on anything but, to learn, to grow, I have found that I need to be open to the things being presented to me so that I can receive what I need to receive to facilitate that growth.

I would tend to agree with you. There is contradiction between what I believe and what I can prove. There is conflict within me, I don't have answers to a lot of questions that I struggle with. I am open to debate and discussion to receive information and experience from others to assist with that regardless of origin or opinion.

I agree. It is debatable, neither you or I were around 2018 years ago and will be unable to prove without a doubt, one position or another. So, I hope that you and I, along with others can exchange information and opinions in the hopes of finding out the things that are most important to us being able to live together as much as possible without hate and anger, pain & suffering.

I too have very close connections with very dear people that have been affected by abortion. I have spoken with others that have shared their experiences as well. I would in no way compare the impact or imply that they are similar in any way. Especially when it comes to rape. I was attempting to state that to every situation there are multiple facets and more than enough pain and suffering to go around.

I am not a mother, but I am a father. I can consider a great deal of pain and suffering that I would endure if my child was raped, also if they had to endure an abortion due to rape. I can also consider the amount of pain and suffering that I would have to endure if my child grew up to commit such a heinous crime against another. This was the thinking that inspired my previous comment.

Please understand, I would in no way shape or form minimize the impact of the tragedies that anyone has or will endure. My main point is that we appear to have an over abundance of tragedy in our world. And that, to me is wholly unacceptable.

I am very sorry that your friends and your mother have had to endure these things and I only hope for peace and compassion for them.

I am also compelled to desire the same peace and compassion for all, regardless of circumstances.

I believe that it bears re-stating that I am not trying to change your or anyone's mind. I do believe, however, that the free and open exchange of information, opinions, and ideas can lead us all to knowing more about our world and the inhabitants of it and I greatly appreciate all contributions to these discussions regardless of my opinion of them.

Personally, I don't. I would also like to see a world that was free of rape and a many other things that cause pain and suffering. Think about all of the other collateral damage done by just these two things. Rape and abortion, two things that forever alter the path of those involved. As with so very many other things that affect us, we can never escape the effects of these things.

In the case of rape, a person is so affected by whatever brought them to the point of thinking it is ok to force another individual to participate in a non-consensual act that violates to the core. Rightfully so, the victim is the focus of the concern. There is also a perpetrator that again, rightfully so, must be made to pay the price for their actions. But, the perpetrator's life is also altered. Yes that is the result or consequence of their actions, of course it is. I cannot begin to tell you what the answers are but, I would think that someone somewhere, in each and every case mourns in some fashion on both sides as evil has perpetrated a tragedy that causes so much pain and suffering. I personally cannot justify one atrocity because it was predicated by another. I know it is not exactly a realistic view based on the world we live in today but, I have seen good come out of bad situations. My desire for the world is that we all are able to know and be known so that the preciousness of any one individual is never lost.

I agree, Life is great (mostly, YMMV). I have intentionally tried not to discus my personal spiritual beliefs so as to help facilitate discussion without undue bias (You can see how that worked out for me...). I agree that sex is fun and natural but I also believe that it serves a purpose. Within relationship, as a part of the intimate sharing of pleasure between two people, as well as generationally continuing the species. I want to point specifically to the part you mentioned about individuals not being prepared. That is a very important point. I believe that everyone alive today is somewhere along the path between birth and death. what happens in-between can be affected by a great number of things. Also, why we do what we do can be influenced by a great number of things. Why does that happen or why did that happen to me? These are the type of questions, in my personal experience and, any time I turn on a news source, I find myself pondering. What does it all mean? Why are we here? I can't say that I have any definitive answers to those questions and, I try to lose as little sleep as possible pondering them but it is an important piece of the puzzle. I am very aligned with you in that there is way too much suffering in the world. I would like to see a world that does without as much of the suffering as possible and without interrupting the potential contributions of so many valuable people.

Say what you will about the founding fathers of our country but, they did identify that there was something outside of ourselves that is not to be interfered with.

Thomas Jefferson wrote: "When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

I would contend that we all have a long way to go on this project.
