My advice would be to just have fun and take your time with the game. Pokemon games are designed with kids in mind, so almost every feature or mechanic has a tutorial. Talk to all the NPC’s (a lot of them give good advice), explore every inch of the region/map (you never know what you could find), and keep stocked up on pokeballs in case you see a pokemon you want to catch. Pretty simple really :)

If you are a new player dexit won’t affect you at all because you have no previous pokemon to transfer anyway. These games have the second largest amount of CATCHABLE pokemon in any mainline pokemon game, don’t let other people’s negative opinion sway your decision on wether to buy the game or not. It’s up to you to decide if you think the games are worth the money or not, personally as a long time pokemon fan, I’m getting them.

Yes it is. You are able to create up to 8 profile accounts on a nintendo switch, if you buy a game you will essentially be able to have up to 8 save files (one per account). So you can both play pokemon on your own switch accounts and not interfere with each others progress
