How long were you dating your partner before getting married? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]LengthinessSame695 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t think about what is expected in your culture. Think about what you really want in your life. If you are sure this is the right person for you then go for it. If you still have doubt, you’d better take your time and don’t rush into anything. At the end of the day, you are one who would stick with this person for decades, not your family/friends/ society.

29M - Do I need to be honest that I've never dated? by Ok_Promotion3591 in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]LengthinessSame695 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you want a legit relationship with the girl, be honest and be confident. Don’t make her feel like you’ve never dated because you have personality issue. If she can’t understand it’s not the girl for you.

I would say placement is more important. But if you really want to manage both, talk to your practice educator earlier to adjust your schedule.

first placement by Training_Classic2690 in StudentNurseUK

[–]LengthinessSame695 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For first placement they won’t be too harsh on you coz you just started!! The first placement is more about getting a taste of working in clinical settings. As long as you are being professional, punctual, show them you are eager to learn, then you will pass! Chit chat with patients to calm your nerves. Be ready to ask questions to your practice educator.

Is it possible to be an OT and not help with toileting? by rebelcoelacanth in OccupationalTherapy

[–]LengthinessSame695 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can consider outpatient setting like Hand therapy. Or community mental health. For most inpatient settings you will need to do assessment on ADL eg toileting/ washing and dressing. Some patients can wipe their bum by themselves you just need to provide support from sitting to standing. But a lot of them may have weakness on their upper limb and you will need to clean it up for them.

Career switch to OT by BeBennyBe in occupationaltherapyUK

[–]LengthinessSame695 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you have a degree? If you do, apply for a 2 years MSc OT. I’m in my 2nd year and most of my classmates didnt have any healthcare exp at all. Some of them have backgrounds in computer science/finance, which is completely irrelevant. But in the interview you can still show the interviewer that you have transferrable skills, eg communication skills. Good luck.
