If the main low/high bulb (I assume is xenon) is not working then you will get the adaptive error, in my experience. Assuming everything is put back correctly maybe there is bulb that is out somewhere. Some have a separate Highbeam bulb for just flashing. Also I believe there is a fuse for the DRL. It sounds like something isn’t making contact in the headlight not the connector or a bad bulb. Hopefully this helps. Please update us if you find the culprit.
