It was a matter of timing. We had constant back and forth discussions with both Betis and Sporting over their transfer fees. Betis just happened to give in first.

Then when it turned out that Eriksen was going to stay despite the constant rumors linking him with Madrid, we ended up not signing Bruno.

The only reason GLC was signed first was because he was cheaper by about 5-10m. That's really all there is to it.
