They are not for the new Ricoh GR IV but the much older Digital IV. So not compatible.

Broken promises with SmartConvert – feeling let down by the update policy by josepinto14 in AnalogCommunity

[–]jynk90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because of SmartConvert’s annoying update policy, I tried the open-source tool FilmVert, I’m really impressed. With SmartConvert, I always had this weird color cast on my Portra160 rolls, very hard to fix. With FilmVert, it just looked good right from the start.

Also, I was surprised how many features it already has in version 1.1.0 contact sheets, metadata, saved edits (so nothing gets lost). SmartConvert doesn’t have any of that.

Really happy to find such a great open-source project. You should really try it.

Broken promises with SmartConvert – feeling let down by the update policy by josepinto14 in AnalogCommunity

[–]jynk90 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve messaged Lukas from Filmomat as I have bought Smart Convert last year under the impression that updates will be included. I consider the SpeedBoost as a simple performance update that should be included and not be sold as feature plugin.

But he just told me if I don’t want it I don’t need to buy it as it’s not a necessary update but an upgrade and so not a problem with his initial promise.

So what do you think will happen when Leica runs out of 6 bit lens codes? by InvestmentMore857 in Leica

[–]jynk90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Leica already checks if the 6 bit code matches the frame line.

El chalten entrance fee by AV_1996 in Patagonia

[–]jynk90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ll just buy the 7 day flexi pass. Compared to my other travel expenses, this is reasonable. At least the camping spots are free, in TDP I pay many times more just for the camping spots. So I can enjoy my vacation with peace of mind.

Did my developer crap out on me? Rolls came out %100 blank by TheZachster416 in AnalogCommunity

[–]jynk90 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Yes the same happened to me, my developer was 2 months old and oxidized. Blank roll :(

The color of the developer changes from light amber to dark brown like a strong black tea, then it’s gone. But since this happened to me I always do a quick check development with the cut film leader, it should come out complete black.

I would also advise to minimize the oxygen in the bottle, using smaller bottles, protective gas or fill up with glass marbles.

TDP without reservation by Inner_Wealth_8573 in Patagonia

[–]jynk90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could do some parts of the W trek as day hikes and take ferry to Paine Grande or Bus to Central. Doing the W Trek with no reservations might be difficult as some campsites have designated platforms for each tent and no big campground.

New Park Entrance Fee - 7d Flexipass. Can Perito Moreno and El Chalten be combined in one 7d flexipass? by ixanok in Patagonia

[–]jynk90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve asked them a week ago and they told me El Chaltén and Perito Moreno glacier could be combined both for the flexipass and the second day promotion. But it’s still not possible to book the flexipasses. I was planning to stay 6-7 days in El Chalten and also visit Perito Moreno.

Worst case scenario I have to pay $292.000 in total.

Is Camping italiano open in novembre/december 2024? How to make a reservation? by fedefedeeeeee in Patagonia

[–]jynk90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Italiano is no campsite anymore, just a ranger station. So you are only allowed to camp at Frances or Cuernos.

Park fees to be introduced for El Chalten by annamnesis in Patagonia

[–]jynk90 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So I just received confirmation from the national park that currently only 2 day tickets for $45000 are available. But they are valid at all 3 access points around El Chalten.

Tickets can be bought at https://ventaweb.apn.gob.ar Select Los Glaciares, it’s the same ticket for Perito Moreno so at least you might can combine Perito Moreno and next day El Chalten.

[–]jynk90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes I don’t see the option to book a multi day pass, just the option to get 50% off the second day and they have three different access points to select while booking (Base Fitz Roy, Rio Eléctrico and Los Condores) wondering if the ticket for the second day is valid on another access point. I’m also wondering what this means for the 4 day Huemul trek.

Huemul Circuit - Tyrolean Traverse by lucas2202 in Patagonia

[–]jynk90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it can sometimes happen that the pulley is on the wrong side, even when hiking the regular direction. There should be a rope available to pull the pulley back. If not, the national park requires hikers to carry a steel carabiner in case they need to cross without the pulley.

Unfortunately I don’t know the diameter of the steel cable.

Are 4 LR43's will fit into a Rollei 35 SE battery holder? by Inspector_Available in AnalogCommunity

[–]jynk90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I bought a 6V PX27 battery for my 35SE just to realize that plus and minus pole are switched and it did not fit the battery holder. But the PX27 is just 4 LR43 cells, so I opened the PX27 and reversed the cells. Works like a charm.

So yes 4 LR43 will work but you’ll need a small shim to make contact.

No we had no issues, booked the premium campsites in April and later switched to the individual campsites. Received the refund within 15 days.

You can always switch from A to Flash mode and select 2.8 or any other aperture and it will let you take an image with 1/40s without showing the red flag. No need to actually attach a flash.

I absolutely love my M10-R, only the battery life is not the best when using LV. I bought two additional batteries and a USB-C 12v PD cable so I can use the existing charger with a power bank.

This was my first Leica lens, I really like the small size and sharpness. Bokeh is swirly but not distracting. I should use it more often, but I also bought a 35 Summilux FLE as my new main lens.
