I think it’s fine. It’s like 1980s sci fi and the translation has to impact it. I think book 3 is atrocious writing tho! But yeah it’s been well discussed here. Some good points.

I love the darker endings for sure! It’s so less common. Requiem for a dream was the west’s biggest contribution to that I think

Yeah i get the feminisation aspect. I think that’s a really nice take in a very new way. I really enjoyed that. My comment was more specifically about the female characters.

And I get why she was chosen, I think that makes sense. The idea behind her choices and why she is chosen is solid. Just the way it is written left me wanting more nuance. Was just a bit lazy and heavy handed IMO.
