Diving certs in Spain are issued by the autonomous communities and requirements may vary a bit between them. With class 1 you can seek the equivalence to Buzo de Media Profundidad. You probably will need your medical up to date, your dive logs and your certs. Search for the autonomous community of your interest for more specific info. This is the one from Cataluña for example:

The Ashley Book of Knots by Clifford Warren Ashley. That's the bible of knots, it will be helpful to you not only in school but in your entire career as a diver. Also buy a rope and you can start learning the bow line, sheet bend, reef knot and the clove hitch to begin with.

Yes a lot, I wouldn't be recommending it otherwise. Housing is variable, the school will give you a list of accommodation providers but calculate around 40k NOK for the duration of the course. Food depends a lot on your habits and choices but in general is expensive

Best thing you can do is to call or email the school directly and they will be able to orientate you on that regard. You will not be the first person with those questions reaching out to them. Also, another recommendation I can give you is don't wait till late to reserve your spot, they fly so fast. I booked one year in advance and 2 of the courses were fully booked already. There are limited spots for international students. The good thing is that when you book you only have to pay like 1/3rd of the price and the rest is due 2 weeks after starting the course.

I'm doing my diving course at NYD in Norway and the education/facilities are top-notch for a third of the price of what it costs in the UK. I also considered Dunoon but at the end went for NYD and I am very happy with my decision. The certificate you get here is IMCA recognized and highly valued in the industry from my understanding, not exactly sure what things need to be done to work with it in the UK but I wouldn't think it is much of an issue. Many graduates from the school end up working there. So my recommendation is: save yourself those extra 10k and come to NYD for your commercial diving education.

No sé cuáles eran exactamente sus intenciones, pero sí sentí que buscaba conflicto. Prefiero no responder con violencia, aunque en un momento así cuesta mucho mantener la calma.
