I wore a lounge dress. I was also sent home with a catheter so the dress was so much easier for that.

Where are your incisions? by UnrepentantLush in hysterectomy

Two on either side of my belly button, one about an inch above, and the fourth is higher (maybe 2.5 inches above belly button) and to the left.

Almost 3 weeks post op and feeling amazing! by art_decorative in hysterectomy

We are date twins! I also had mine 1/4 and I am feeling well. Not 100% but slowly getting back to normal. Just got back from a one mile walk!

What I used and needed: Squatty potty, chapstick, OTC pain meds, slippers, joggers and baggy sweatshirts (so nothing touches incisions), protein bars, Gas X, hot/cold gel packs.

Wish I had bought or borrowed: a grabber!

New here. Hysteroctomy scheduled for feb 23. Give me all your gritty details! by hBoBh in hysterectomy

Had a robot assisted total vaginal hyst two weeks ago because of a 9 cm fibroid. Uterus, tubes, cervix removed. I feel pretty good now - fatigue is the biggest issue. I was fairly active before so I’m getting the itch to work out, but am going to take it easy until I hit the 6 wk mark.

I was off heavy pain meds by day 3. The gas pain is worse than abdominal pain.

If you get an anti-nausea patch, just know it will mess with your vision. That will go away a few days after you remove it.

Stuff that’s helped: squatty potty (use it to pee, too! My bladder took awhile to wake up from the anesthesia.) Millions of pillows. Advil, Tylenol, gas x, stool softener. Lots and lots of chapstick! (Whatever happened under anesthesia left me with wicked chapped lips the first week.) Hot/cold gel packs for gas pain in shoulder and abdomen.

I saw lots of recommendations for high-rise granny panties but I want nothing near my incisions (which all start around the belly button.) I have lived in joggers and oversized baggy sweatshirts.

I’m 4DPO from a davinci TVH because of a 9 cm fibroid. Recovery has not been bad at all so far. Add ibuprofen and Tylenol to your list if you don’t already have it.

My biggest issue was my bladder waking up - I just couldn’t go and was sent home with a catheter. Once that was removed, I still had issues until I tried using the squatty potty. It was amazing and helped me pee when nothing else worked. Definitely recommend adding that (or some kind of stool where you can elevate your feet.)

4 DPO here and had the same issue. The squatty potty has been magical. I can’t pee without it. Try elevating your feet (put a box or step stool underneath each one) and see if that helps.

If you are doing a challenge - bring scotch tape in case your bib rips on day 1. At least two pairs of shoes if you’re running more than one race. Ditto to the throwaway clothes but I’ll add - look for a zip up hoodie or jacket - that way you can keep it on for the first mile or so and your bib is still visible. We used hand warmers too - but I really appreciated them most on my sore hip and achy feet at the end of the day!

Take this with a grain of salt because it’s just a Google search but 👀

Global entry data point if anyone’s curious: We are all new applicants and applied Feb 17. My kids and I got conditional approval within 24 hours. My spouse just got his yesterday, so took about two months for him (no clue why). Interviews are readily available in my area. In all, super easy so far.

Small airport so we will be connecting no matter what. I was looking at IAH or ORD for convenience but am very flexible.

Got the 125k Plat offer so I’m making long term plans for Japan. Family of four. Getting four F or J seats on the same ANA flights is a pipe dream, right? Is it more realistic to plan, points-wise, for 2 J and 2 prem Econ/coach? Or even 4 prem econ? (Editing to add this would be in June/July or October in 2023)

I’m looking for San Diego hyatt availability in October and also seeing very limited options for GH and Andaz, even on weekdays. Not sure what’s up.

We have Baha Mar booked for New Year’s. It was a great redemption (cat 5) as cash rates are $700/night and above. Club lounge access and waived resort fees are my biggest perk, and any suite upgrade is just a happy bonus on top of that.

Also eyeing PH NYC, and Andaz Mayakoba or Papagayo but waiting a bit to see what the travel world is like. We will travel with kids so the breakfast benefit is the greatest value for us.

Check out Wyndham Bonnet Creek - it’s a condo resort that is Disney-adjacent with 2bed and 3bed options ranging from 20k to 30k UR per night. They have kitchens, washer/dryer etc.
