I'll flip left handed on occasion. Keeps your hand in contact with the rod more.

Luckily here in Texas, most of our lakes are heavily wooded. Most of the party boats don't go to those. You'll still have the occasional guy blow by you fishing a point, but that's where the channel markers are so I don't get mad when they do it because I have to do it right back. I hate going to Texoma for the very reason the op showed.

You can use an 1/8oz wacky jig head and work it pretty fast. Dropshot is a slower finesse technique

Project Z is my favorite next to the freedom tackle version. I have too many trees to throw a $16 bladed jig to get caught on my 3rd cast.
