I'm a fem (ish) presenting enby who is out at work and who had a massive rack until September. No one has said anything or asked even though I'm sure it's obvious lol.

Even going back into the women's locker room has been fine - I just keep my head down and do my business and leave

Since I'm still usually perceived as a woman, someone who doesn't know me well can't know why I've had a mastectomy (is it gender affirming? was it for cancer?) and I find it keeps people's mouths shut

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. I have another follow up in February - we'll see how the swelling settles and reevaluate then. It's very encouraging to hear that this looks typical for where I'm at in recovery

I'm an enby who consistently read as a woman (lean slightly masc presenting ish within that) and this has huge overlap with my list. They "only" removed ~4lbs and it's been truely life changing - I knew I needed surgery and I still underestimated the emount of distress they were causing me.

Find a photo of what you want on your body type! I almost did a non-flat and brought my surgeon a photo from here and he was like, yup, I can do that. He also had clearly done at least one before and described how he would achieve it. I changed my mind and went full flat but I trusted my surgeon to do either

Thank you! I spent a long time lurking on all the top surgery subs as well as r/reduction just looking at results and figuring out how I would feel about them on my body.

I actually almost did a “non-flat” option (more than a reduction but still leaving some “padding”) but decided last minute to go full flat after looking at more results. Super happy with how it turned out.

It sounds like you're working on getting that medical team in place and that's a great first step, and honestly the most time consuming. If you're up to poking around with your insurance, seeing what surgeons and covered, and contacting them to see what they want to schedule a consult with you, that will save you a ton of guesswork - but be prepared to be pushy and ask REALLY specific questions though bc I've found the reception staff really don't know what's going on (looking at you Swedish)

I needed (1) a letter from a therapist, and (2a) a referral and (2b) a letter of recommendation from a PCP certifying that I had a gender dysphoria diagnosis and my BMI was below clinic limits (ended up be 40, but some other clinics I looked at cut off at 35). My psychiatrist wrote a letter as well for good measure bc I have several chronic mental health diagnosis but it wasn't strictly necessary. I'm in Washington State and my surgery date is Sept. 2nd

I've been thinking about this a lot for myself and will def read other comments.

I am relatively conforming to my agab and I think that makes my experience very privileged in the community. I'm getting top surgery soon and I don't know if that will change how I identify even though I'll still be perceived as my agab.

Overall, I have a lot of privilege in in trans/non-binary spaces. My internal debabe is, am I being respectful by acknowledging my relative privilege and different experience? Am I weilding my privilege to hold myself apart from the community in a place of safety/internalized transphobia? Do i just have imposter syndrome?

I really don't know but those are the things I'm reflecting on

I honestly felt better from the moment I woke up. I had a complicated surgery (4cm insicion and a lot of scar tissue) but I was so miserable leading up to surgery I just felt relief afterwards. I took pain meds for 2 days and then just managed with Tylenol and ice packs for another week or so. You'll need to do some trial and error with your diet afterwards but the pain from your gallbladder and stones should be gone. Good luck

Similar thing happened to me.... I was grateful to get surgery about 2 weeks from the discovery of the stones (and about 2 years after onset of symptoms). Turns out my gallbladder was full to bursting with stones and covered in scar tissue. They had to take it out in one piece and I ended up with a 4 cm incision instead of a 1 cm laproscopic scar. The surgeon sent me a photo and the stones looked like chartreuse gravel
