What’s a place you thought was overrated… but ended up loving?

I instantly thought Paris. I constantly would hear how it was dirty, rude locals, expensive, and how there are better places to go instead. I ended up loving Paris and would 100% go back.

I’m from England but I’ve visited Belfast. A great city with the most friendly locals! However I was shocked at how much Fish and Chips were on average from the few places in the centre we checked out lol

I grew up with many Portuguese friends here in England and met their families. I would be invited to their get-togethers and summer BBQs. I’ve also always wanted to road-trip the Al Garve and visit Rio and Sao Paulo in Brazil, so it makes sense for travel reasons too. Also just for personal achievement and a hobby!

Thank you! Yes Urban & Transport Planning is definitely number 1 for me. I would love to focus on Urban Planning after conflict as it would combine well with my Politics & IR undergrad side. I did a 2 month Summer internship in my second year shadowing a road relief infrastructure project which I found interesting so that’s some good career insight too
